RE-EDIT UPDATE (05/05/18): Clean store, things are rudimentary to find, and good staff.
(01/01/18:OLD) I've been buying from this Dollar Tree establishment since the summer of 2016 when I discovered that this one is close to home. Clean and organized majority of the time, shop here a lot, and most of the associate and cashiers are nice and just want to go on with their day which is understandable (managers included). But I must address what I disturbingly experienced by the cashier Tanisha right on New Years; Jan 1!
At about 12:40 today in a jolly mood, I picked up only two packaging envelopes as usual and stepped up to the first lane where she was present texting on her phone with no other customer present. No Dollar Tree employee should be using their cellphones; ESPECIALLY not when they're in front of the register not doing anything else, which she was in the state of (I've worked for DT before, I know). Approaching her I said, "Hi, just two of these". She heard me loud and transparent but just like before I even arrived there, she completely ignored me, had her head down, and acknowledged to typing on her phone instead despite that she heard me talking to her and was facing me right in front of the card swiper and register. "Excuse me, I'm ready", I stated and same motive by this supposedly young adult. I still kept it cordial and stated, "Hello". "I said that I'm ready". She slowly picked up her head to look at me but gave me an irrational, antagonistic tone saying "um/ugh, I GOTCH YOU", with attitude and glanced back on her phone to finish whatever she was doing before even starting me! Unbelievable!
Most people would have gave it to her or tell her how rude she is but I was too aghast to even put her on the spot for her behavior! Why did it have to take more than 1 minute to address me, scan my two items and you'd rather proceed with your phone first? Customers are really supposed to wait on that?!?
After finally completing the transaction, she told me "Happy New Year" so blandly and once again, very poor rapport and eye contact while giving me my receipt and change. I usually brush off when a worker is a little nasty and dump my receipts but this scenario had to be recognized and I wasn't going anywhere! In just a few moments, I found the manager who is pretty cool due to my past experiences and mentioned to him what occurred and let him know that ghetto, vile, and adolescence behavior shouldn't be tolerated for any customer and I'm not of her category. He claimed that he would handle it and talk with her but I've also called corp on the same day at 1:00 p.m/ regarding this issue, will e-mail today, and also mail my complaint for tomorrow since USPS was closed today. What a way to start off a so called "New Year". You're there to help and assist the customer giving them your full attention; not be apathetic and approach them nasty with the back of your smart phone right at our faces!
This is an admonition for anyone who encounters her and gets the same inhospitality! I'd rather wait for another sales associate or a manager to be available to be served by her ever again. Not suitable to serve to the public at all and astonishing to be one of the new...
Read moreAlmost all of the cashiers have an attitude if they have to ring up more than a few items. It’s the dollar store people tend buy more than 2 things at once. They huff and puff and make you feel like you’re inconvincing them. I’ve seen on more than one occasion cashiers on their phones as their ringing people up which is extremely unprofessional and rude. They almost never have more than one person working the register which causes a line down the isle and when they ask for assistance over the loud speaker not a single other employee comes to help. (Witnessed it first hand today. Whoever else was on the clock was laughing and joking around loudly in the office. Clearly not doing anything of importance or relevance) I’ve watched several people just walk out because of how long the line gets. YOU’RE LOOSING BUISNSSS. Overall the professionalism is lacking tremediously and the manager should be more aware of the employees and how they treat paying costumers rather than being annoyed because someone asks for help...
Read moreThis dollar store is the worst one in the area. The cashier on Sunday morning is nasty and rude. When we tried to use our card, that worked at the store next door, she loudly said that the card was declined. The card wasn't declined but after looking on the dollar tree website this seems to be frequent since the question was asked in the FAQ. The store isn't the cleanest and it isn't stocked well but if it wasn't for there poor customer service the store would be ok. We have had problems previously with this woman with gift cards, coupons and past rudeness. I will be taking by business elsewhere to avoid the embarrassment of that...
