Purposely Eventful Wedding and Banquet Venue — Attraction in Green Brook Township

I recently had a very poor experience with the event venue named Purposely Eventful located in Greenbrook NJ. The open space is nice; but not suitable to accommodate large parties. Recently, I was the Planner for an event that took place at the venue. Upon my arrival and entrance, I noticed the tables were not set up correctly. I informed the owner, Michele, and her helper about the floor plan; unfortunately, they were not helpful and did not assist. Consequently, I had to move the tables myself. Albeit I received no help, I was told to be careful not to scratch the floors. While setting up prior to the event’s start, one of the venue’s helpers was constantly in the way, taking pictures and asking questions about the food, decor, drinks, and flowers. I had to ask her not to take pictures as we were still setting up. Not to mention, this was a private event, and the guest of honor may not have felt comfortable with a stranger taking photos of her. My chef was displeased as well. He was told to put the extra food and catering supplies in a mopping room. The linen that was provided did not fully cover the tables; so, you could see what was underneath. Consequently, I asked if I could put some boxes in the next room. However, I was told there would be a fee to do that. I ended up having to put items inside of my car and the cars of guests. As the night went by, I continued to help and realized the garbage cans were full and not being changed. Since I could not find the owner, nor the helpers, I had to store garbage bags in my car. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, the table holding the cake, cupcake and presents fell. The cake’s design was ruined along with the cupcakes. Once I found the owner and explained what happened, she locked the table’s legs; but offered no apology. There was also an issue with the room temperature. Several guests complained about the heat. Many of the guests had to go outside to get fresh air and others left because of the heat. I would neither recommend nor use this event space again. The staff was largely absent and unhelpful. My daughter sweet 16 was Phenomenal 🤩🥳🥰 Mrs Isom sat down with me and let Me give her all my ideas she was very patient with me cause I was everywhere with what I wanted 🤩 She is so professional I never worried about rather it was going to be great. However as I said in the first line it was better than Great it was phenomenal!!! Anything I have I’m calling her. She really did an excellent job with all my ideas for decorating my daughter was so happy when she saw it and my family very impressed the location is beautiful. She also hosted my dad repast and it was handled the same way very professionally and purposefully 🥰🥰 She is amazing 🤩🥰 I can’t say enough about how happy I was with her service.
