The waterfront in Bristol never looked so good. The finishing touches on the high-end townhomes with a few condos for those who cannot fill the 5 story with elevators as standard offerings and very few upgrades even available due to the very well equipped builders package coming as a no cost line item on the new anchors to hold Bristols past firmly in place as the upgrades city hall has expertly advanced into reality bring the renaissance this sleepy historic stronghold into its place as the new "it" location in Bucks County, a destiny Bristol Boro has had written in stone ages ago by the powers that be. I cannot explain how much joy it brings this native son to see so much vibrant development happening from Radcliff Street to Miflin and Route 13 to its North West boundary. Places like The Water Works, The Cantina, The King George Inn 2, The Spice Shop and Mignon Jewlers are holding commercial spots that will be coveted retail outlets as the, Princetonification of what once was a simple home to hard working immigrants becomes perhaps the fastest Philly commute (by rail, water or roadway, no less!!!) for Bucks residents looking for a bedroom community that they can bet the bank on to be THE address everyone will want to call home by the end of 2022. Planned communities by noted local builders McGrath and national Luxury builder Toll Brothers are in various phases of completion, as commercial giants such as Banana Republic,Sephora and Restoration Hardware are rumored to be in talks to co-tenant a new design center in the old 3M plant that has remained an empty placeholder for the right possibility. Whatever you do, be sure to go see the place you know as Bristol now before you may not recognize what can only be streets "paved in gold" that saved a city in ruin and order up such wholesale...
Read moreIt's a perfect bar restaurant Inn that reminded me of the TV sitcom, "CHEERS" only classier that's located right by the Delaware river and literally sits on a street called "Main St." in an old town of Bucks County called, "Old Bristol" township. The old town has an old school feel to it that reminds you of the 50's along with an Americana feel that stems from its' architectural surroundings along with a yearly tradition of sitting up a town tree perfect for the holiday season that comes with a dedication and turning on of the lights with Christmas music playing in the background and an active town bulletin board that lists it's activities for the month.
And that's just a description of the outside.
Inside, its just as warm and inviting with a personnel crew that gives you classic welcomeing home feel to it. The food, is just as good and attentive service, even better with the owner mgr. active assuring quality service with a smile. The moment you step inside, you don't want to leave, just because of the decor making this critic wondering, "Why didn't I ever visit this place before?"
BUT that's not to say that there aren't other things to do or visit. Back outside, alongside the river are scenic dedications and memorials to the past for romantic meeting points and along Main St., its' local township variety of independant stores. A perfect setting that reminded me of the town in a 1980's hit, "Back to Future" along with a town Clock. But enough with the surroundings, back to, "The Wharf", you must come to see and experience this gem to see what I mean. Do it today before Christmas. It's worth every...
Read moreThe area itself was a pleasant surprise. Clean and well kept with beautiful statues/sculptures and landscaping. The walking path was clear and handicapped accessible. I hoped it would be a peaceful afternoon walk along the riverfront, but instead, my peace was disturbed by some young evangelists with a microphone and VERY LOUD speaker preaching about how we all needed to be saved by Jesus. Unfortunately, there was no way to escape their litany without leaving the waterfront and heading up into town. The streets of town were beautifully lined with cherry blossoms and looked like something out of a painting. Old buildings and distinctive architecture made for an interesting visit. And the food.....delicious! Papa's Pretzel Place was probably the best and freshest soft Pretzel I've ever had, and El Limon Mexican Taqueria did...
