I'm literally and figuratively kicking myself for not visiting this remarkable place sooner! Forever, I've driven past The Grundy Museum, and have never been inside (yes, dumb, I know 😝) First and foremost, thank you to the staff and volunteers who were beyond knowledgeable, funny, kind, and professional. I couldn't get over how immensely beautiful it is inside! I took so many pictures! The information, and history that we were told while on the tour was pretty freaking cool, and helped add to the mysterious spookiness. I felt like we had stepped back in time; I was so amazed by all of the jewel-toned colors everywhere . We will surely be back for a full house tour, and also to see the Christmas trees and decorations. P.S. thank goodness for the free parking out front, and lot across the street.

I love touring the Grundy museum. This home is so beautiful and ornate, it's fun to imagine living there as you walk through. Right now they've decorated for Christmas and it's just gorgeous. And admission is FREE so if you haven't been here, what are you waiting for???

Interesting local history. Museum volunteers are friendly and knowledge. The beautiful Victorian building and it's furnishings are impressive.

If you are interested in interior design and home furnishings of the late Victorian period, with an emphasis on the arts and crafts style (William Morris influence), this is a simply exquisite time capsule which you really should visit. The level of detail put into conservation of objects which survive the owners is top-notch. And where extant specimens could not be used, replicas as precise as possible have been installed, take for example the reproduction carpet in the dining room which was custom made for the space. There were so many beautiful artifacts and the overall effect of each room was so beautiful that I actually took the tour twice in a row! My docent, Natalie, was exceedingly patient personal and knowledgeable. I can only imagine that the other members of the staff are equally dedicated to the experience of the visitor. This is truly a gem in Eastern...

7/22/2025 This place is stunning. The waterfront views with Burlington Island just across the river are lovely and tranquil. Who would've thought there was once an amusement park on that island? I can't tell. Tree, garden and animal life enthusiasts will enjoy this one. Saw a large egret come out of the island from the window of the dining room. The 200 years old plus sycamore trees are FABO!!!

The house is such an amazing piece of preserved history. There is just so much detail you have to take more than one trip to really take it all in. Our guide, Nick, did such a fantastic job showcasing the house while answering so many of our questions. Well done, Nick! I was so impressed I plan on visiting during different holidays and seasons to see how the place is decorated. Take a stroll on the waterfront promenade afterward and you can almost picture how things...
