Historic Mule Barn — Attraction in Middletown Township

My husband and I and our best friends wanted to go out to eat and was going to go Jakeabobs but was not opened yet. We always go to on the deck but I remembered The Mule Barn opened. What a great decision . Had Tiffany as our host and she the best. Friendly there when needed her always checked on us and let me tell you when we go out I always get Mahi Mahi tacos. They were the best I ever had compared to 3 places I have had them. My husband and my friends husband could not believe the burgers. Huge. Loved them. My friend loved her dish too NEW LUNCH OUTING FROM NOW ON. Leaving saw so many deer and was even able to get close to them. Also got a great pick of a beautiful 12 pointer buck. I don't agree with killing deer. Leave them alone. Fort Hancock great place to go in Sandy Hook Mule...

The service here is CRINGE !! Me & 1 other person came last night .. no one was at the host stand, so we proceeded to sit at the bar to get some food. The bartender woman avoided us completely... no hello, no eye contact, back turned, and made herself busy at the other end of the bar where there were no people. So weird. Then a guy was unloading a box of beers right in front of us... I was waiting for him to acknowledge us... after about 5 minutes I finally had to speak up and ask for a menu, to which he said he needs to check with the kitchen... he said no upon his return. This place was so weird, badly employed, and a waste of time. I can see by many other reviews that this is common behavior......

Drinks were good, food was good. There was no wait to get in, however we sat there for 20 mins before our waiter came and asked us anything. Then they brought out the wrong food, but quickly fixed it. Then considering the amount of time we waiting just to be waited on, our waiter came and asked if we wanted a to go box or just the check, while we were still eating. Definitely was not impressed but will give them another go, once they figure things out. Being a new restaurant i understand there will be some hiccups, at the sametime they should be tryin harder to make...
