After buying milkweed at Lowe’s ended up with caterpillars. I’m not an expert and I ended up getting through all of it with the help of Google search and I called today for advice from the butterfly house in Milton on the best places to release my monarchs and I felt like the person who answered the phone (said they owned it) just felt uninterested & not very polite. It was obvious they Just wanted to get off the phone & not very interested in talking to me ..I thought this was an educational organization..they actually were no help at all and then finally told me they had a field trip going on and they were busy..I apologized & just got off the call feeling let down & disappointed so I don’t recommend calling here for advice we were about to donate money to it but not now I’ll find another organization. You would think the owner actually should’ve been a little bit more polite and helpful...

The Panhandle Butterfly House is a great place to visit when you are in the area. I was fortunate enough to stumble on this place. They have to close for the winter, so check the schedule before you go. It was so fun and interesting to see the butterflies inside the house with the gardens. Some of the butterflies are sneaky and blend into the background. Take your camera. If you are patient, you can get some good shots. Besides the live butterflies, there are also donated exhibits of butterflies from around the world to view in the entry area. The guides are very helpful. This is a wonderful place to bring children, but fun for adults as well. I've been to other Butterfly Houses run by museums or for-profit companies that are bigger. You really can't compare. This is a valiant and fantastic effort on the part of volunteers with donations in a location that wouldn't have such a facility...

I give it only 3 starts because it said it was open and it wasnt it said it was closed for thr season which is sad because i am only here for another week and apprently i wont get to see the butterflies :( so i cant rate it any higher i was so excited to....maybe one day i can come back and be able to see it, but it wasnt a total loss i looked around the area and got pictures of ducks and turtles and beautiful flowers so all in all not a total loss but i am disappointed to not get to see what i came to see i wish the website would say its closed instead of opened kind of decietful :/

When I was there which has been almost 3 months ago i found out about the place looking online and on the hours posted it said it was open but when i got to the actual place on the door it said it was closed for the season. I just think no one made it clear online that it wasnt...

The Panhandle Butterfly House is a charming little place for a quick family outing! With pretty plants and flowers, lovely butterfly displays, and staff with lots of information you're sure to enjoy your time there! We saw a handful of beautiful butterflies, a unique white monarch, a caterpillar and several chrysalis. You won't be swarmed with butterflies when you enter, but you will definitely see them along with unique art pieces and plants throughout! We paid $7 per adult, our infant was free and we bought a few goodies for our child at the gift shop. Summertime tip: It's definitely hot inside the area with the butterflies on an already hot day so mornings may be best especially with young children. Glad we stopped in! Be sure to sign their guest book when you stop in to help with grant funding! :)

Such a cute little place to take small kiddos! They have a play area, a history room, a gift shop, a walking trail and tons of butterflies on display in the hallway. The green house did not have many different species of butterflies however it did have all cycles of the butterfly available for viewing (in real life) which was cool to see. My son was able to view the pictures and look for the different species and the stages of the cycle. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

My daughter and I visited during the pollination celebration. It was lovely, with crafts, a snack bar, a children's parade, gift bags, and tons of knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. The gardens were beautiful and the butterfly exhibit was so exciting. There is no air conditioning anywhere and unfortunately, the designated parking was very unkempt and I unfortunately got a flat tire while attempting to exit.
