Could not be further from “child friendly.” My 3-year-old was first, yelled at, twice, by a volunteer sitting in the train area for wondering around, as a child would do. Publicly discouraged from getting on the train because of his age (the ages allowed on the train are 3-12). He was already sitting inside the train waiting for it to take off. That same volunteer asked me in front of everyone “how well do I know my child?” because he was playing with 2 rocks he found on the floor as I was reassuring him my toddler could ride the train. I want to especially highlight the middle aged bald guy conducting the train on Saturday 10/4 at 2 PM seen in the picture. My toddler was screamed at, and publicly ridiculed by him for attempting to touch an exhibit. As someone who cares about the safety of my child more than he ever will, there is nothing my toddler did that merited him: stopping the train; frowning at him the way he did; waving his hands at him the aggressive way he did, and yelling at him loud enough for me to hear you when you were at the furthest point of your route, in front of all, children and adults alike. Your train is not loud enough to excuse your tone. My toddler’s body did not leave the train. My child did not get up, and his whole arm was not even out. West Florida Railroad Museum Management, you need to reevaluate your volunteers, and that dude needs to get a life, preferably away...

The West Florida Railroad Museum is open Wed-Sat from 10am to 3pm. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The Emerald Coast Garden Railroad Club maintains the beautiful garden train layout. Children ages 3 to 12 may ride the 7-1/2 Gauge train in the garden on Fridays and Saturdays, weather permitting. This museum is very well maintained and the static displays are in immaculate condition with informational placards on each. The Bridge Tender's House was moved here from Escambia Bay and houses a very elaborate HO scale model train layout that features local historic structures. The ca. 1929 Pullman dining car "The Globe Coffee House" is available for rent for parties, meetings and other events. Inquire with the staff regarding rates and scheduling. The museum is only a few minutes drive from the Interstate. If you are traveling along I-10, take the Bagdad-Milton exit and follow the signs toward...

Wonderful train museum with real cars to walk through and lots to learn about the history of local railway. They have a gift shop and visitor information in the front where you can get a map of the museum. They have an authentic dining car to walk through along with a caboose. Inside one of the buildings is a huge motorized train that replicates the local Milton and Pensacola depot's when they were a main transportation mode. There is also a train that small children can ride on that goes around a magnificent train track with several motorized trains running on it. We loved visiting this museum and I had no idea it had as much to see and do as it does. They even rent out the dining car for birthday parties to help financially keep up the museum. I highly recommend everyone to stop by and enjoy a...
