In violation of state law USDA requirements in Florida, refused to provide a list of ingredients upon request or which recipes excluded certain things. When called, they just wanted to argue and then tried to refuse a refund. And yet no recipes were ever recited that discluded what was asked about. Second time there. And yet the first time we were there, the old lady gave us great service and told us which recipes they didn't cook that morning with cinnamon added. She even helped us find a whole bag of donuts that didn't have any of the included cinnamon recipes of day olds. It's a shame she died because the ones that are left, don't care about customers and just want to make people cry and and try to scare them and say they put it in "everything".
UPDATE: AND THEN BLATANTLY WANTED TO LIE IN REPLIES TO THIS REVIEW on several sites. Answer me this, After doughnuts were purchased why would they be returned if they didn't have cinnamon? Could it indeed be that you REFUSED AT LEAST 6 TIMES in front of witnesses to answer which didn't have cinnamon and then when you were called on the phone and wanted to argue, told me that there is cinnamon in all of them and I shouldn't eat any of them and I quote snotty attitude "IF I WAS YOU, HONEY, I WOULDN'T CONSUME ANY OF THEM AND WOULD GET A REFUND" and then when we asked about a refund you guys got argumentative about not being able to put it on a card, and that you usually DON'T DO REFUNDS (your words, not mine) and then said to never come back. Because we tried to find out which were safe to buy, LOL. RIDICULOUS BEHAVIOR!!!
there isn't a list of ingredients anywhere, that they "claim". just a sign that says "may contain peanuts". But the FACT REMAINS you were blatantly asked SEVERAL TIMES WHICH DONUTS DO NOT HAVE CINNAMON and CONTINUED MORE THAN ONCE TO ARGUE INSTEAD OF ANSWER and talk down to me like I was beneath you. Lie all you want in replies. It still doesn't...
Read moreI know this is one of the only places to buy cakes and donuts in town, because I was forced to as we are military on the move and are staying nearby and my son wanted donuts for his bday breakfast today.
Yesterday I bought a âRocky Roadâ cake from the bakery for his bday today and it was completely boring. It was too sweet with zero flavorâdefinitely didnât deserve its name of Rocky Road since it didnât have any of its elements in the cake, and the frosting was absolutely awful. Simply your horrible shortening-based whipped garbage. We threw the cake away after each trying just a few bites. It was affordable at $12.50, which I credit them for, but Iâm glad I trusted my gut and tried it last night so we could find something else for his bday today.
Despite that experience, we did go back and buy donuts this morning. They were all just fair. Nothing bad and nothing drool-worthy. Theyâre not experimenting in this bakery so donât expect to even see anything remotely up to date like maple anythingâŚno maple bars, or any bars for that matter, and certainly no bacon.
Maybe theyâre vegans? Thatâs okay if they are, and would explain the shortening instead of true buttercream, but advertising that if they are would be helpful to their customers. :-)
The chocolate topping on the Boston creams was too stiff and not chocolatey enough, the brownies were dense and dry and flavorless, but the star shaped sugar cookies...
Read moreThis was a really good stop. It's easy to see why they've been around a long as they have. A group of us went, and we tried a few things. We got a Honey Bun, which was MASSIVE. It was pretty good, with a really nice cinnamon forward flavor. I personally prefer a little more glaze, but it's still quite good. We got a blueberry cake donut, which was VERY good. I like plain ol' glazed donuts, so I got one of those, and that was the only thing I wasn't thrilled with. It wasn't bad at all, just bad on my personal preferences, I've had others I like better. We also tried a yellow cake with butter cream icing, dipped in fudge - I don't remember what that was called, but it was REALLY good, but fair warming, it is SWEEEET! THE BEST thing we had was a lemon filled glazed donut. The lemon filling was simply glorious, and the donut that was its base was great. I could eat that all the time without the filling. The filling just made it better. Overall, it was a good choice to go there and I will definitely go again. I highly recommend you give it a try. The only reason it's not 5 stars are personal preferences on two of the things we tried, and a lot of options we would have preferred to try, but at 8:40am they were already out of. I can't wait to try the things we missed out on. In case you're wondering, it's not a sit in and eat location, it is an old style grab...
