It’s a great park if you’re looking for soccer fields, an archery range or model aircraft flying. But if you’re looking to get away from it all and find some peace in nature… you’ll want to look elsewhere. The traffic in and around the park provide a constant background track of road noise and voices. The only real nature to be enjoyed is the large herd of deer that gather near sunset. Went out and did the 1.9 walking trail around the park and added an old road in the park up to the Marita buildings for a total 3.0 mile loop. Weather was beautiful and wildlife along the Meramec river was scenic. Thought it was a little strange the number of cars parked intermittently with individuals just sitting there. Has a significant remote control airplane area that was enjoyable to watch...
