We attended a baseball tournament that our grandson was in this weekend and everything was great until our last game. Our team played the Wibyl extreme Wallace Team from Collinsville,Ill. We had gotten our seats placed to the left of home plate where our dugout was .The rules stated you could not sit directly behind home plate. Some fans from the other team then came, set up a large tent directly behind home plate, and blasted music very loudly before the game started and many times during the game. They played some heavy metal, songs about getting out their cigarettes and wine, and some country junk. I asked once very nicely if they would at least turn it down. One of the guys had a remote in his pocket and barely turned it down a little. We could not even hear each other when trying to talk with our family. So we moved over some and then he turned it up even louder. This was the first game we had been able to see since last year as we live farther away. I feel like no one team should be able to disrupt the games like that. If every team decides To blast their music what happens? I just feel this was very disrespectful and if they want to play music, they should do it at their home field, at the river, or at least by their own dugout!! Please consider changes that keeps this from happening...
Read moreThis park has something for everyone, including a fish-stocked lake, baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, and a nice playground!
Just opened are two new areas: 'Bark Park' is a well thought out dog park, complete with tennis balls for playing fetch and a covered area for sitting! Second is the 'Dragon Hatchery Disc Golf Course, which just opened May of 2025, and boasts 5 holes with four more opening soon, according to the City of Osage Beach Facebook page.
Make sure you apply deep woods insect repellant, as I did get into seed ticks while exploring the disc golf trail. The trail is well cut, but longer weeds and grasses will brush onto your ankles and you will get them. I only explored just beyond the entrance to the course at the first hole and got them. I checked for them immediately after scouting out the first hole and cleaned them off with bug spray and wet wipes. But just beware.
This was a very nice park and I recommend it for anyone looking for a free and...
Read moreThis a small, well set up sports complex. I have been to softball tournaments all over the country and this place was laid out right. There are only three softball fields with some soccer fields toward the back of the park but they did it right. There is sufficient parking, the fields are far enough apart so you don't have to worry about errant fly balls, the fields are a short walk from the parking lot, bathrooms are fair and concession stand wasn't outrageously priced. The fields were well maintained and well designed. The park also has a fishing lake, playground and some sand volleyball courts.
The only thing that could have made this place better would be some man-made shade...
