I frequent this goodwill often to purchase and donate items. I have had multiple issues with a certain cashier and manager with their unnecessary attitude and prejudice towards me and other hijabis I know. I had an issue today with a bowl in which I did not change the price but the cashier refused to scan it, saying it could not be scanned, she didn't even attempt to. And then she called to check the price and didn't even wait for the person to come get the item, she met him halfway in order to change the price to higher than what it was. When I confronted her about it and asked to see a manager, the manager was very unprofessional in her attitude and the way she handled the situation. She just said they changed the price inside and when the employee explained to her the situation the cashier lied about the original price that was on the ticket. She said the price was too low for the item and brand, even though that's what the tag said. I reiterated that the price was 3.99 and not 2.99 and asked them to check the cameras because I did not change the price. I am upset with the lack of professionalism and how the manager and cashier chose to handle the situation. Next time I will be taking further action, I have noticed the prejudice when it comes to my hijab, even towards other people that...
Read moreRanking only behind Shelton and the notoriously bad Westport goodwill this “thrift” shop is BAD. Employees are pleasant, store is clean… Prices are absurd. Case items are generally 125% of its fair market value, managers reasonings range from “it’s a valid price” to “it’s because it will eventually go half off”. Average shirt prices has once again increased, with many random labels and bootlegs being marked as “designer pricing”. Goodwill is marketed a community friendly donation center than helps supply jobs and foster opportunities within the community. Unfortunately, it is rare you will find a team member on the floor with a disability, and even more rarely will you find a deal under retail pricing. I would wholeheartedly recommend donating to other organizations such as Salvation Army, Homes for the Brave, and directly to...
Read moreI decided to go to this Goodwill location despite the mixed reviews to see how it was myself. I probably should’ve trusted the negative reviews and saved myself the drive and time. I’ve been to a lot of the Goodwills across the state and this is one of the priciest ones. If you’re looking for good prices, this is not the place for you. Outrageous pricing on everything: the tchotchkes, electronics, art, furniture, shoes, bags, and clothing. Probably the only reasonably priced items are the books. Lots of stock but you’ll probably only be interested in it if you’re a middle aged woman. Wouldn’t recommend this Goodwill to anyone. Very disappointing that their prices are so high given that...
