Do not mistake this for either a hunting/fishing store or a place that embodies "Southern Hospitality". We stopped in to shop and spend some time while in Monteagle, and when my wife asked if they had a rest room (Having been on the freeway for an hour to get to the town), the man behind the counter gave her a very sharp "NO" then looked back down and continued with what he was doing. In fact, we did not see him greet any of the patrons coming in or out of the store while we were there. If you are looking for incense, stickers, pricey clothing, or an exceptionally limited selection of what they call fishing and hunting stuff (nope), go on in and experience the lack of warmth otherwise found in a place like San Francisco or Boulder. Great hippie/stoner/L.A. vibe, but not Southern/friendly/Tennessee mountain town vibe. Edit to the review- my 3 year old daughter was with us so it was feasible that we were asking for a restroom for her...not withstanding again...great place for your glass pipes and weed paraphernalia (probably popular with the college in town), but not adults or families.
**In response to your response, we did not enter from the park, we entered from the parking in front of your shop. We then had to go to CVS down the street so my wife and daughter could use the restroom after which we went across the street to a nice antique shop and purchased some things. We THEN went to the park so my 3 year old daughter could play having driven all the way to Monteagle in the car. We also looked at 3 properties and two lakes for vacation homes if our itinerary is of subsequence... None of which excuses your behavior. Again, your response is exactly an example of your shops personality and the service people can expect. Folks, read that response and understand that we are educated, refined and traveled. We have shopped in boutiques and Neiman with equal interest. We have dined in everything from greasy spoon diners to top Michelin rated restaurants. We have traveled and lived all over the country and world. Absorb the response and understand this is not a family that values people or manors, they value their signs and stand by their rude, brash behavior. A man that uses his wife's observations in a conversation as an excuse to be rude to a lady, is not a gentleman. Perhaps she should be in front and you should be on the cameras? Just a thought as someone who has owned a few businesses and managed many large teams....
Read moreIve visit the area twice a year for the last 2 years to see family that lives in the area. I've wanted to stop by this store for 2 years now, but every time I would drive by, they would be closed. Yesterday, we pull up to the store and the hours mentioned they would be open at 11 am. We wait in the parking lot until 11:15 am, doors are still locked. So, we leave. We decide to leave my family's house early in hopes the store would be open this time because the sign said they closed at 6.. and they were! They were actually open 😳😮 Unfortunately, it was not worth my wait... Walk in and I guess its the owners behind the counter? Im not sure, we weren't even "welcomed" into their store. It kinda seemed like we interrupted their personal time as the guy is trying on pretty bangle bracelets weird. The clothes are nice, decently priced.... if youre a female that enjoys wearing crop tops... but the gifts 😳😳 they had glass coffee cups for $32 A PIECE. And a large glass bowl above the coffee cups was $34 by itself. 🤨 So then I turn around and see magnets 😍 maybe I could buy a souvenir magnet from the store ive wanted to go into for years! Ummm $14 magnets???!!!! Needless to say, we walked out empty handed and thankful we didnt waste money in this store. I hate that so much suspense was built inside me to go in this store for years now... definitely such a...
Read moreWhat a great place to stop in after a long road trip from NY. My girlfriend and I spent the better part of an hour in the store walking around and talking with the owners. It immediately felt very welcoming and like home. They have great personalities and to boot they have a great selection of clothing, a whole wall of Jeep/Mopar merchandise, coin collections and jewelry, home decor, fishing/hunting/firearm and outdoor equipment. They even have a small selection of musical instruments and incense etc. Chris went above and beyond looking for a specific part I needed while we continued to chat. Both owners were more than willing to share their time, their business story and we even bought some fun stuff ! No, there are no public restrooms and there is a sign that says so. Not sure where the one and only negative review came from (for that) but it should not be up here ! Great place, great time,...
