Hidden in plain sight, this is a wild life refuge in the middle of the town. There are two small ponds and a ~4km trail around them. Pathways are mowed and wide enough. At the begining of the trail you will find a Monarch station, we saw many of these butterflies while walking the trail. Kids enjoyed wide selection of wildflowers and other plants. This park is next to a small, but very active airport, so you can expect private plains landing over your head, making some noise. It was not too disturbing though. Parking area is small, but this is not a very active trail, so it will likely be just you and few folks fishing...

I took my dog for a walk here today (09/21/2025), and shortly after coming home, I discovered hundreds of tiny tick larvae (seed ticks) all over his body.
These ticks are extremely small, almost like specks of dirt, and can go completely unnoticed during the walk.
I’m sharing this so others can be aware. Please check your dogs thoroughly after walking here, especially if they go through grassy or leafy areas — or consider avoiding this park altogether if you’re concerned.

Read moreI have to post about Green Farm, it is an oasis in the Gaithersburg suburbs. It is so beautiful, serene and peaceful! I think today was my 4th visit. I stumbled upon this hidden treasure during the pandemic I believe. I have to mention the first time I was there I thought it was just a coincidence that I only encountered a couple of people. In fact I asked a couple and they said it is always like this. I can confirm that and today I only encountered the same number of people, two lol. I love to walk and the scenery, and wildlife will surpass your expectations. Enjoy, it is a must see...
