Crystal Coast Civic Center — Attraction in Morehead City

My husband, Tanner, and I just got married at the Crystal Coast Civic Center last weekend. I could not have dreamed of a better location and team to help with our very special day. Tina, the venue coordinator, saw our vision and far exceeded any expectations helping us with the planning process, complementary decor options provided by the venue, & ultimately the help with set up. We rented chairs and the arbor from a local third party company but tables and linens were available through Crystal Coast Civic Center which was extremely convenient. We also purchased a lot of decor ourselves.

The natural beauty of the location is a canvas in itself, however, the little details put in by Tina, ourselves, and my friend/photographer really made the overall aesthetic feel specially catered to my husband and I. Our guests were very comfortable as there is plenty of shade and air conditioning before the outdoor ceremony began! We also had some snacks & drinks we were able to set up inside for the early risers.

I got ready privately upstairs with all the moms & had a makeup/hair artist travel to the venue. We took professional photos all over the venue including the getting ready room. There are a lot of beautiful, creative places to get amazing shots. I loved being able to walk down the steps and really get a good look at all of the wedding guests! They provide an amazing speaker system which we were able to play a fun love song playlist as guests trickled in, and ultimately the wedding song I walked down the aisle to that my now husband recorded acoustically. Also cued up an exit song and our first dance right after the ceremony ended and surprised our family & friends with a choreographed dance while they all were still seated! The set up outside was perfect for us to use the concrete as a stage almost.

Thanks to Tina & other team members, the process was seamless and it took a lot of pressure and stress off of Tanner and I. I cannot recommend this venue enough for not only weddings, but other events as the staff is extremely accommodating to all age groups & seasons since there is so much space indoors and outdoors. The possibilities seem endless and they make it look effortless, but they work very hard behind the scenes really listening to requests & do what they can to deliver. Me and my far better and sweeter half come to the festival every year for our anniversary. The chocolate festival was our first date. The place we went to to get to know each other better and enjoy some sweet bites of the various different types of chocolates and other sweets they have. If you have not taken the time to come to the festival then you really need to. It happens for two days once a year, so no excuses as to why you can't make it. You have a whole year to plan to go so don't flake out. You won't regret it, but you will regret not going especially if you love chocolate. My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding here on June 20, 2020. The Crystal Coast Civic Center did a great job making this day special and memorable for all that attended the ceremony.
