Sweet Beans Midtown Sound Cafe — Restaurant in Morehead City

Since moving to the Crystal Coast, I have found that there is a lack of little coffee shops where you can enjoy a cup of java, maybe work a little, or meet a friend or co-worker. I was SO HAPPY to have found Sweet Beans this past week when a colleague suggested we meet up there.

This place is a little difficult to find if you don't know about it, so just know it is where the Dairy Queen is in Morehead. This coffee shop has all of your coffee faves, whether you are a fancy coffee drinker, or if you have your coffee black. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the manager. Sabrina has been working at this establishment for many years and has made it a lovely, warming and inviting place. As for the management, he can't take criticism or treat certain customers with respect. If you aren't in his circle then you aren't worth his time. I use to love coming here but when I see he Is there I instantly run to Dunkin. It's a shame that someone would feel unwelcome in this shop. When visiting Sweet Beans last weekend, I was shocked to find the manager serving customers across the counter while not wearing a mask. While I can understand a small business being wary of confronting customers not wearing masks (these customers were not wearing masks either), there is no justification for a staff member working directly with customers to not wear a mask. When I reached out to the manager privately before posting this, he gave no assurance that he would wear a mask in the future. Will not be returning. Saddened and...
