Just amazing views. Well worth the hike up the trail. (You park 1/2 way up and then need to hike the remainer if the way.) We caught the sights on a mid-week afternoon when nobody else was around. The summer crowds won't be around for awhile and the weekend was not near so it was the perfect time to visit this spot. The weather cooperated and gave us views for 25 miles all around. Bright blue sky with some puffy white clouds as a backdrop to the gigantic granite stone in the middle of the harbor. Words fail me. Just go. ...

This is a great trail and the views are spectacular. A fun little jaunt if there ever was one. It's kind of out of the way, unless you are at the golf course, but worth the trouble getting to. The only bad thing is the park lot is small, but maybe that is a good thing? We only saw one other group while we were here. There are other fun hiking trails near here but most don't have...

A nice short hike with a beautiful view from the top. You can make it a longer hike by starting over off Quintana or down off State Park Road.

Closed to bikes and dogs are on-leash only.

An excellent night-hike as well. Bring a headlamp or flashlight and dress warm. Enjoy the view of the lights of Morro Bay and Los Osos and have it all...

You can start from one of the lower paths to make the climb a little more rewarding. Views along the way and then at the top are predictably fantastic, and it's a peaceful time. It's also fun to see from above what you know only from the surface. Parking's pretty easy no matter where you started the hike from on the town side.

Excellent viewpoint in Morro Bay State Park! You can see in all directions - down to the valley behind you, south to Los Osos, and out to Morro Rock. You can hike up from the bottom or, if you just want a quick jaunt, you can drive up a narrow paved road and park at a lot that is just a few switchbacks from the top.
