The course is very beautiful and you get amazing ocean views surrounding you. The people who play are very nice and patient so atmosphere and players who treat golf as a gentleman’s game is a plus. However with that being said I was marginally disappointed with my last visit slightly. The gentleman named Jim who you sign in with at the first hole although initially friendly became very impatient with my mother who misunderstood his instructions for the group we were supposed to tee off with. When my mother apologized he seemed unfriendly and rude. People do make mistakes and she did apologize and said she was just driving the cart for me and tagging along and when my mother apologized he was impatient and not gracious. So I’m taking a star off for Jim’s bad attitude but aside from him I otherwise would not hesitate to recommend this course. It is beautiful and a great way to enjoy golf and soak up some amazing beach views. However I would appreciate staff being more patient and understanding when misunderstandings happen. They will from time to time and if we were doing our best to correct the misunderstanding Jim should have been more patient especially with what we paid...

I never normally leave reviews, but beware if you are planning to golf here and have someone ride along with you. We are in the area from Fresno, and my husband made a reservation to golf at noon today. The website showed a price for a ride along, so I planned to go too as i did on a past visit. We got there a half hour before our tee time and the cashier showed us a piece of paper saying that only golfers can be in the cart today, and no spectators are allowed unless walking. Wow!! So my husband cancelled his golfing reservation because we had planned to do this together.

How does the golf course come out ahead? Now they have only the 2 other golfers for the time slot instead of three, and they have lost two previous fans of this course with their poor customer relations. Very disappointing. Went back in just to confirm that there were only two others for the time. Asked again if they could please accommodate us, but just got the same paper...

It’s one of the nicer courses in the area, especially for the price. However, the pace of play here is absolutely abysmal. Genuinely a joke amongst our group of how bad it was. It took us just under 6 hours to play 18 holes, as a scramble… Whoever the marshal is, they basically refused to do their job when asked. We had a group of young children in front of us who were unbelievably slow for the front 9. It took an hour alone to play the first 2 holes. I have never in my 10+ years of golf played at a 30 minute per hole pace. We then were jumped by another 4some at the turn which extended our round even more. Almost no courtesy exists amongst most patrons here. If you’re going to pack your day with 11 minute interval tee times, you really need to fix your pace problem. It has been like this for ages and is now at an absurd level. I will not be playing here again any time soon, and I suggest you don’t either unless you want to waste half...

The staff were super friendly, and the course itself offers a good variety of challenges with different types of greens—great for sharpening your game. The location and views also add a lot to the overall experience. That said, I was playing with my son and found a few of the regulars to be less than patient with newer golfers, which was a bit disappointing. The main issue, however, was the course marshal—who didn’t do much to manage pace of play. We ended up skipping the 10th hole due to a backup caused by a slow-moving, drinking foursome, and continued from the 11th, which was wide open through to the 18th. Despite the hiccups with a few locals and a lack of support from the marshal, everything else—from the vibe to the layout—was really enjoyable. I’d definitely return, just hoping for a smoother pace next time.

Me and a buddy got a tee time for mid day on a Friday. I wasn’t sure what to expect considering the $40 a person green fee and being a public course. I was blown away by the staff and course conditions. The staff in the pro shop were incredibly nice and even gave us a mini tour to show us where the starter was and how to use the dispenser for the driving range. The starter was friendly and on point. She even offered us to move up about 20 mins early. We chose to stick to our time and enjoyed the course with a single that joined us. The course is well kept. The only thing that could use a little work are the cart paths. They definitely keep your cart speed in check lol. Great views from most holes and fast greens. This is easily one of my favorite courses and I can’t wait to come back.

Morro Bay Golf Course is such a neat place. Not only is it a fun course, it has amazing views of the course with water in the background. A SLO card purchase helps with the price if you golf regularly. I paid regular price, $70 for 18 holes with a cart on a Saturday at 11:15am. Employees were fun and friendly and they keep the course in great shape. It's a fairly easy course but the greens are treacherous. Tip: The ball tries to defy physics and roll toward the water. It's an odd phenomenon. It can get busy during tourist season.
