So good and the staff were beyond awesome!! My husband, sister and I went here last night and it was our first visit to Boone Hall Fright Night. All of the attractions were super creative and scary. I particularly loved the intricate puppets made into monsters! You can tell these folks are very passionate about what they do - the actors were great too! Plenty of jump scares and surprises, great make-up, costumes, and props. There is something really special about the staff here too: I accidentally lost my phone while on the hay ride attraction (slipped out of my back pocket, 100% my fault). When I exited the hay ride, I let the woman who was riding the tractor know, as well as the woman guiding us off the ride. Both were super helpful and nice about it - the one at the exit even offered to walk the trail to look for it. She said “no worries, just continue having a good time and I’ll go look. If I find it I’ll leave it at ticket booth #1 and you can pick it up on your way out”. My husband could track my phone and about 20 min later could see that it had been moved. Sure enough it was at the ticket booth as promised (intact! I couldn’t believe it wasn’t smashed by another tractor!). It may not seem like that big of a deal but to me it was. This woman went out of her way to help me, while it was still super busy, and was really kind about it too. The fact that she was willing to go look right then (versus waiting until closing), and even took the time to tell us to just “keep having fun” while she looked demonstrated a surprisingly high-touch level of customer service that honestly isn’t generally expected at Halloween haunts with a zillion people running around. I would definitely recommend this place and just wanted to thank the woman for going out of her way to...
Read moreTickets are a bit expensive for VIP passes but they were absolutely worth it. The passes took it from a night of would be standing around Boone Hall for hours, to a legitimate date night event that left time to grab dinner afterwards and not get home at midnight type thing. The pass saved us tons of time and lots of waiting around. The haunted motel was first on our list, and it was good. Lots of jump scares and freaky make ups. I don't want to give too much away but it was definitely worth going to. Next on the list was Tiny's Toy factory, this was by far the best event there. Again, i don't want to give too much away and ruin it but it had some psychological fear types which were honestly the best part and the staff was scary from the minute we walked in. The hayride was next and this was ok, it was the most disappointing for me but lots of other people enjoyed it so I think it depends on what your fears are. The food they had was okay, the Bacon Ranch French fries were undercooked. The bratwurst was great though and the funnel cake was perfect. The clear bag policy would have been nice to know of BEFORE going. Other than being ridiculous and an invasion of privacy If we had known before had I could have made sure personal hygiene items and medication i needed wouldn't have been visible to the whole dang town. I am glad we didn't take a jeep or anything that wouldn't have been able to have been really locked up. I understand the safety part, but this definitely targets women and made things rather uncomfortable. So just a heads up, DONT BRING A BIG BAG.
Overall it is worth going to, could be better for sure but was still a fun night and worth going and...
Read moreHonestly I write this feeling disappointed and have visited this attraction in years past.
Very long lines that took quite literally two-hours of wait time just to enjoy the hayride. During this time there were no entertainers besides a DJ at the far end playing random eras music.
This is and was a missed opportunity to have engagement with customers by costumed actors to keep the 'Halloween feeling' and keep people engaged in the spirit of the attraction. Felt more akine to a cattle drive than a Halloween frightening experience. For inspiration, look how Carowinds engages with customers when they're not inside the attractions.
The continuity felt broken throughout the event and felt as though they oversold the amount of tickets for money just to get more people in the door whilst not having enough motivation or employees to cater to the amount of customers.
As far as the attractions and haunted houses go themselves, they are quite good and were really enjoyable. This, plus the food trucks allowed a great variety.
However, with it's literal hours of wasted time standing in lines to where you cannot see all three attractions plus the inattentive details that are the real disappointment here.
Hopefully next year they'll provide a more ' spooky' continuity and provide more of a service based experience and not oversell the...
