We were excited to take this tour. We love the paranormal and a good ghost story so we were really looking forward to it. Very knowledgeable guide who I would say told us 75% history and 25% paranormal. Don’t get me wrong. I love history so I still enjoyed the tour but I was really hoping to hear more 75% paranormal and scary and 25% history. That being said, it is really creepy exploring the ship at night. You do get to visit some areas that you normally wouldn’t get to see during the day. Make sure you pack a jacket to keep you warm and wear closed toed shoes as you go up a lot of stairs and there are lots of tight spaces. I guess the biggest highlight was visiting the top deck at night. It really was cool seeing the city and the beautiful bridge lit up from the Yorktown. Now at one point they do take you into these creepy spaces that you get to explore with the lights out to try and catch a ghost. The quarters are tight and dark so that was about the extent of the paranormal. And oh yeah, there were some mannequins, which always add a little creep factor to the mix lol. All in all if you want a good nighttime history tour of the Yorktown with a little bit of scary stuff sprinkled in this would be a good...

Our guide, Tad (pretty sure I got his name right) was great at keeping everyone involved. Lots of great stories and plenty of things to see. Funny and charming, he made it a wonderful experience. I know what you're thinking, and no, Tad did not pay me to leave this review. We just thought he was a really cool dude and we had a blast. I repeat, under no circumstances was money exchanged for this review. We just think Tad is a great guy who deserves a raise and we will probably name our next child after him. You guys did a phenomenal job hiring this guy and you should do whatever it takes to keep him on the payroll at all times. I repeat, no bribe money was offered for this review. Though we asked repeatedly, he refused to comply, thus, no money was exchanged. Thank you, God bless you and may your life be filled with empty fast lanes on the freeway. We'll miss you, Ted. Remember us and this phenomenal evening we all shared in a public setting, where no money was exchanged. As for the mother-in-law, you are very fortunate to have such a totally awesome, flattering, handsome, charming fellow in your...

I can’t remember our tour guide’s name, but he was a taller, slender, red haired guy full of details about the history of the ship. He was great with crowds, made sure to keep the group together, and tell jokes along the way. In my mind, we were going to see more of the ship (summary about this tour said we’d have access not available to day tours) and get told a lot of stories about death on the carrier. We only saw a very small portion of the ship, maybe 1/4 of it. The only portion that I think may not be available during day tours that we saw was the captain’s quarters and flight deck. Most of the stories that were told were about the history of the ship. Informative and told well, but I just wanted more about the darker side of the ship. It was a really neat tour, but I gave it 4 stars only because I was expecting more ghost stories, stories of deaths, and maybe some more darkness on the ship. It was all lit up just like the day tours. But I’d say it’s a great tour overall and we all enjoyed it (ages 19, 38, and 42). Side note, the views from the flight deck at night...

This tour was great! Really exceeded my expectations. Braxton is an incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, funny and personable guide. He had us laughing every step of the way. He tells ghost stories in a classic way and gave us ample time to take pictures of some of the rooms in the tour and the flight deck at night, plus you coukd tell he had a very deep knowkedge of the ship itself. My husband and I will definitely be back in the future for other tours that Bulldog does, mainly the haunted jailhouse, of which Braxton had stories about too, as he has guided tours in that location too. I definitely recommend the Yorktown ghost tour and this tour group in particular if you visit the Charleston area and are looking for something different to do. You won't be disappointed! However, I do recommend you tour the ship in the daytime hours first, fir the history sake of the ship's legacy. Thank you Bulldog tours and Braxton for making our stay that much more enjoyable! 5 stars all around.
