Please save your money if you are looking for a place to camp on a lake in northern California this is not it. My personal experience: I brought my boat and booked a camp site along side my friends when we arrive the staff didn't give me a tag for my car to park later I got a hard time for not having it ended up spending the night with no problems in the morning a staff member threatened to tow my boat due to it being parked in a camp spot lying to my face saying that I had been parked for "over a week" I was forced to park near the boat ramp for the price of $7. Observations: Almost all camping spots are in direct sunlight most of the day with no privacy. Bathrooms were filthy I'd consider that to be expected with most dense campgrounds. The Bathroom code is: 2142 I have no idea why the bathrooms need a code. Restaurants are lackluster in the campgrounds but in near by MT. Shasta there are several amazing...

Beautiful lake. I think there is a speed limit/or no motorized boats. This is more a kayak or paddle board kind of lake. There are some free places to park and play. The campground parking charges $1 per person in your car but the fee only applies to those 11 years old and up. The beach on the campground side offers a snack shack, mini store, and boat rentals. They have a floating bounce house area, "splash zone," on the lake that is $8 for one hour to play on (and other rates I didn't pay attention to). My 6, 8, 11, and 12 year olds LOVED the splash zone. I give this lake 4 stars because the beach is more gravel than sand, but the views make up for the gravel and the small town feel makes it easier to keep track of children. ...

I've been coming up here annually to decompress from the hustles and bustles of life since 2006. I wouldn't trade these experiences of peace, quiet, connection with nature, mountain time, campfires, meeting people and making life-long friends. This is the place to unwind and enjoy with your dog, family and/or camp neighbors. Endless hiking trails everywhere to explore. Beautiful alpine lakes too. The PCT isn't far, so the chance to meet a real hiker is high up there. Come up here and relax. This is not a place to bring your power equipment to work on your brand new, top of the line, $150,000 Diesel Pusher, Mr Contractor Yelling At Your Beautiful Wife from Los Angeles. Definitely one of the best spots to see Mt. Shasta at all times through the year. However, spring and summer seems to be the best time as fall can be quite cloudy. The kayak rental services didn't seem to be available Thursday afternoon, but it could just be a symptom of the times. Bring some $1 bills for the entrance fee and some comfortable sandals. The beach is, well, not quite your standard beach. There's a lot of broken shells strewn about and it's advised to clear out a plot in the sand before you throw a blanket down. I wore hiking shoes and digging out the pebbles was not a pleasant experience (among other things).

GREAT LAKE!! They have a splash park which is like a huge inflatable obstacle course that floats on the water, SUPER FUN FOR KIDS!!! It’s only $1.00 for a day at the lake and $8.00 per person for Splash Park (they provide a life jacket). Beautiful scenery, clean bathrooms, and a food shack right on the beach to go order nachos or chili fries or a beer (whatever you want). The beach and water bottom are a bit rocks so water shoes for kids would be good. The water was a bit cold when I went (in May) but in another month this place is going to be the SPOT TO BE!!!
