I have been camping and living right by or near this Lake for well over a decade. There's a great trail that goes all the way around the lake, boat access public beaches private campgrounds apparently good fishing because there's always people there fishing. The campground also rents pontoon boats. There are public outhouses that are maintained fairly well in multiple locations as well as parking and there's a Frisbee golf course right next to it. Every 4th of July this is where they do the fireworks and lots of friendly people can be found walking or biking the trail at all times. There are some picnic table areas and lots of hidden spots to set up your own little private Beach area. It is also very popular with ducks and seagulls. Read moreI had never been here before coming up the other weekend and it instantly became my favorite family-friendly lake up here. DROP DEAD GORGEOUS views of Mt. Shasta. We stayed with a friend in one of the cabins on the west shore side of the lake and it was perfect, exactly what I needed. The water was actually warmer than the river is down in Red Bluff, and crystal clear. There's a big bouncy water slide area on the south side of the beach, but they only accept debit or credit, so be prepared for that if you want to do that or rent one of their paddle boards or kayaks.
