I was on a road trip from Los Angeles. I drove straight up to Shasta Lake on the first day, and I had no idea where to go or what to do. I did some research, and I'm glad I found Lake Siskyou. It's a beautiful, clean lake with very cool water, and a beautiful view of Mt Shasta. It's conveniently right off the highway. You don't have to do much walking from the parking to the beach area. The wagon creek bridge is beautiful in design. The walk is mild to easy. Children would do fine. Can't wait for summer so we can navigate around the entire lake.
