I was there for a church picnic. I brought my dogs, because there is an area where you can let them run around without leashes safely. I would have loved for there to be more trees for the dogs and a doggie slide or pool and a fresh water source for them to drink from instead of an old ugly bucket that you had to provide water for your pet and any other dog that pushes up to get some fresh water. There were no trash bags to pick up waste.
Once the picnic started in full swing we left the dog park area and went over to the pavilion and again, there were not enough shade trees for us or our dogs. The picnic only lasted an hour and a half, because there was really no shade to play outside any of the games that were brought. The kids were too hot to play by the swings and slide and that thing they climb all over. They would go out of the pavilion for only a few moments before they were back getting pieces of ice and bottles of ice water The only joyful part of this event was that we were together fellowshipping and... a deer buck came out of the woods and stood near us for over 20 minutes. It was amazing, I have never seen a deer come that close to humans and stick around. We all thought it was a good...
Read moreMy wife and I bought bikes a few months ago. It was the first time I have been on a bike since I was a kid. Since then, we have discovered the many Greenways that have been creaste around the Nashville, Murfreesboro, Smyrna área in the last few years. I am embarrased to admit I really was not aware of these marvelous contributions to the public wellness. If you are intetested in enjoying the beautiful natural Charm of Tennessee Rivers and well kept paved walks, wonderful landscaping and all Nature has to offer, just Google "área Greenways" you wont be dissapointed. And with all that said, the best of the best is the network of trailheads that encompass the Murfreesboro área. I have experienced Many throughout the área in the last several months and these are the best.. They go for miles, are very well maintained, the scenery is amazing, and the people you will meet will warm your heart. Well OK went back to Carson again today. As always it was a great time. A beautiful day and a great ride. We met a man from Hawaii today with a new Electric Bike. He was loving it and said he also loved Tennessee. More lively people that just top off the experience! Give it a try....
Read moreThis is a great paved greenway system for bicycling. With an out and back ride along the greenway system you can easily get a 14-15 mile ride in, or father with a little creative route planning.Much of it is shaded and along the river so it is comfortable and scenic as well. On our rides we have seen rabbits, turkey, and deer on multiple occasions. The greenway is wide enough to ride two across easily and three across if there is no one else around. We try to ride here multiple times a month due to the nature of the greenway...
