This is a great dog park and I have had no issues until 12/15/2021 when an owner, Mike Waterman, had arrived at the dog park with his extremely reactive dog who he could barely control on leash. A couple minutes after his arrival, Mike's dog, Boo, viciously attacked my 7 month old puppy who was walking past playing with other dogs in the park. The dog lunged and bit my dogs eye and wouldn't release it, it took several nice people in the park to run over to get the dog off of my puppy. The owner, Mike, another individual and my dog had to go to the hospital following the incident. Mike has refused to respond to any messages sent to him and has not apologized for his or his dogs actions.

The only amenity it a dog water fountain that is mostly broken. There is a hose sticking out of the side that you can get water from but it creates giant clay mud puddles. There's a good amount of grass, very little shade and people let their dogs sit on top of the picnic table. There is two fenced off areas, I would assume the small side Is meant for small dogs but there is no sinage. When I was there there was an agressive dog on that side. All of the dead patches of grass are clay, so if it's rained recently you WILL be leaving with a orange dog. It's unavoidable. The river every one mentioned in these comments is not part of the dog park and is a good walk away. Still very nice.

Love this place because of the river in the back! My husband and I love taking our pup here to play, and if you’re trying to socialize your dog, there’s almost always other dogs there no matter what time we visit. The river is easy to walk through with Chacos/Tevas/water shoes, and has some deeper areas for your dog to swim. So bring some water toys if they’re good at fetch (there is a current). But watch out— there’s snakes. Especially watch out in the tall grass in the middle of the bank.

I went ahead and gave the park 5 stars because it's not their fault jerks use this park. I have a younger dog I've been gradually socializing. She's tiny, so I like the little dog area. But, every time I've been, people with large dogs just come in unexpected. It makes the process really difficult for people with small dogs. Especially when they are learning how to dog. Besides that and poop everywhere (again, not the fault of Bark Park) it's really nice. There are dirt areas, but also a lot of good grass. Even with benches in the littles area, I don't mind sitting in the pee grass with my little one as she acclimates. In general, the not jerks are majority. She has her little friends she has seen a couple times who are helping her out. It is nicely shaded and also sunny. I love that there is an area for mannered dogs to be off leash right outside the gated area. I also love that it's right off the Greenway because I can park at any trailhead and walk there, or just park at the park. It's great. A little confusing to get out the first time I parked at the park, though. There are double gates on each side of the park, so whether you're coming off the Greenway or parking lot,...

Large, fenced in area for dogs to gather and be social! There are two separate areas: one for small dogs and one for large dogs.

We have been there a couple times now and have enjoyed our time. As with any park kind of area, you'll get a mixed bag of people. However, most of the people we have met there have been super friendly.

The park supplies bows (and a fountain to fill them) and poop bags for the dogs, and picnic tables for the people (some covered). Its unfortunate that some people don't utilize the provided bags. Walking through the area is like walking through a mine field, but what do you expect when dogs gather and play all day?

There is little oversight by any "officials"; so the park is pretty regulated by the people using it. So, it's up to the owners to be able to either control their dog, or restrain them when something does happen. Not saying this is a bad thing, because having to station someone there would probably mean the park wouldn't be free to use anymore.

Overall, a great place to take your dog, and we will continue to...

I bring our adopted shepherd mix dog here often. The few negatives is the old toys and dog poop lying all over due to pet owners not paying attention or caring to clean up. It is of course a muddy mess for a few days after a rain. The city shuts the water supply off during the winter whether it is freezing temperatures or not. The pros are the large pins for dogs to play in. There is one for small dogs and one for medium to large dogs. There are several benches and tables and one is covered. I've always found poop bags in the free dispensers and room in the many trash bins. There is also a large open area outside the pins, adequate parking and a river nearby that some owners take their dogs to wash off or cool down. Lastly it is next to the expansive greenway trail if you wish to walk your dog on a leash....
