La Siesta Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

Called in an order around 1:00 pm for LUNCH today. Was told there is a $2 charge added to every meal because of increased meat prices. Okay..so I ordered a California burrito and mixed fajitas. I was interrupted a couple times to ask what location I was ordering from, I told them multiple times NW Broad street as I had made sure to call the correct location. Idk if they have an operator taking orders for every location or why there is such confusion about which location I was trying to order from. Anyway, when I pulled up I called and told them I had a curbside order to pickup, I was told I could come inside for pickup and was asked my phone number and the moment I started speaking I was once again interrupted by them asking what location I ordered from. So my husband went inside to get our order as they didn't seem very willing to bring it out to us. When he got inside he was told the total for our order was nearly $37!! When he asked why it was so expensive they said we didn't specify that we wanted lunch so they charged dinner prices plus the $2 "meat tax". Okay it's one thing to charge someone dinner prices when they clearly wanted lunch at lunchtime but then you give them what is smaller than lunch portion!! They told my husband to specify lunch or dinner next time to which he replied "there won't be a next time" We got very little food and a disappointing amount of meat in our entrees for spending almost $40 on lunch. The rice was puffed up, mushy and tasteless, I got enough meat for 2 tortillas, our cheese dip was less than halfway full and the burrito was mostly beans and hardly any chicken. Let me start by saying this review is not against the staff or the cleanliness. The restaurant was clean, and the wait staff were nice. This review is about the food. From the moment we sat down with chips, salsa, and queso to our main courses - everything was bland. ZERO flavoring. The queso was extremely bland, no spice. The salsa tasted like tomatoe paste. Enter the main course.... the rice was as bland as bland can be. Not a single hint of spice. Wife got a Pollo Loco but with shredded chicken. When it came it looked like cat food honestly. It was soaking wet with water. You could push down on the chicken and water would pour out onto the plate. Zero spice as well. I got the Mexican pizza. I could only eat a few bites. It was so watery the tortilla was super soggy, and there was essentially a lake of water building up under the pizza. There was zero flavoring in the beef, and I couldnt see an indication of spices being used. It's a great idea, but I believe the issue is the pizza sauce they are using is too watery, and add in the refried beans they put in there having too much water, it ruined the entire meal. I ordered food last night at this restaurant. I've been there a few times but last night was my last visit. The waitress was very sweet and personable. We ordered our food and a pitcher of margarita on the rocks. The owner is having his staff to fill the pitchers to the rim with ice and all the glasses, which cheats the customers out of their beverage. After receiving our food, there was a hair on one of the plates. The waitress was notified and she took the plate back to the kitchen. The owner/manager then comes to the table and basicly tells us that all food is inspected from the kitchen and there was no hair on any of the plates. I then asked the question, was he calling me a liar. He asked do you want another plate, and I said I don't want to eat here and we walked out. I do understand you have some people that will find a hair or some foreign object after they eat to ditch paying for a bill but this wasn't the case because the hair was found immediately after the plate was placed on the table.
