We gave this place a second chance after the first time the sales person never followed up with us to remodel our kitchen. Well that should have been a red flag for us but went there again and the whole experience was scatter brained and unsatisfactory. When dealing with the owners directly this time we felt some higher level of confidence that our money was going to be spent in the right place with a local small business. We thought that we would have had a more hands on professional experience. This was not the case at all. We decided to start with purchasing a granite counter top. They directed us where to look at places that they partnered with. We finally had a slab picked out from Pittsburgh granite, advised them where we wanted the slab cut to expose most of the veining in the slab. The representative said he would note that to the fabricator, which is a third party in this purchase. So when the fabricator comes to install the counter tops the pieces where all cut incorrectly wrong measurements, scratched our dishwasher and left a gap between the counter top and cabinet. So at this time weeks after paying for the counter tops, the kitchen cabinet store never even once reached out to us to see how things where going or to check on the results. After the installation and poor workmanship we demanded some resolution from the fabricator. They claimed that they weren't ever told where to cut the slab from Pittsburgh granite and wasn't going to take responsibility for it. So I had to call the kitchen cabinet store where we purchased it and I got the run around from them trying to pass the blame on the granite company and fabricator. They also tried to turn the blame on my wife and I as if we where supposed to supervise the fabricating process. After no satisfaction to start over or even a price adjustment we were told to take them to court if we felt we had to. This is a company that takes your money and runs, gives no support and doesn't take ownership of its mistakes. When displaying our disbelief of the final poor workmanship they tried to belittle us as if "how dare we just want we paid for."These are people that take your money and that's where it ends. My wife and I will never recommend this place and will caution anyone...

The countertop purchase was riddled with issues. They get their quartz counters from armina stone, in the future I would go straight to the quarry and purchase directly because once they put in the order, they won’t advocate for you anymore. Armina stone took multiple trips to measure and install because they brought incorrectly cut pieces. It wasn’t too bad, but I definitely expected a more professional experience from a company that takes laser measurements to get an exact fit.
The other countertop issue was with a large butcher block from John boos. We got American walnut and based our decision off of a sample we saw in the showroom. The sample and the actual product looked profoundly different, even they agreed that the product we received looked different than the sample they had in the store. Evidently, they had never sold American walnut and did not know their sample was different than the product. After receiving the counter we wanted to return it or get a replacement in a different color. Not only did the owner admit to not knowing anything about American walnut, “I can’t be an expert in everything we sell”, “we have never sold American walnut in the past 15 years”; but, they told me that the Boos company could not do anything about it so we were stuck with the countertop or we had to sell it. He also told me they only made $80 on the sale, insinuating that it’s not worth their time to fix the issue.
In the end, John Boos did stand by their product and make it right. However, the store was unable to negotiate that positive outcome on behalf of their customers. I really want to support small local family business, but when things like this happen I definitely rethink that desire. Sometimes it’s better to go with a bigger company that can advocate on the customers behalf and produce a satisfactory outcome for that $80 commission. Read moreIncredibly disappointing experience that wasted 3 weeks of my time. I'd used them before for a kitchen, worked with someone that is no longer there, and had a great experience. This time, not at all. I am incredibly disappointed. I was in the showroom to look around. I was in the area and had a few minutes. I knew what I wanted so I called, the owners son wanted to help me, although I had gotten a card from someone else when I was there. Apparently she was off or busy. He insisted to help me. I told him what I was looking for with measurements, door style, and color. He specifically asked me if I wanted the sink centered or on a side and what side I wanted the linen cabinet on. A couple days later I got an email with a drawing of the sink not centered, the linen cabinet on the wrong side, and it was not even close to the correct size. He asked me these things! People that don't listen are wasting my time. So I reached back out to him, told him what was wrong and asked for another mock up. I got no response until 5 days later, after a phone call and 3 emails. He apologized up and down. Told me it was due to another employee that had worked the last few days. And she didn't read my emails and he would make sure that he told her how wrong she was. He asked me to make an appt with him. My next available day for me was 10 days away. I made the appt with him for 10am and he didn't show up. He didn't bother to call, text, or email me that he wasn't going to make it. He didn't even bother to tell the employee working that he had an appt at 10 and wasn't making it. I drove an hour on a day off for this appt. The person that HE blamed for not responding to my emails, tried to help me. At that point I was done. Absolutely no regard for common courtesy or a person's time. My money will be spent elsewhere.
