Steps beach features a whimsical walk through a tunnel of flowering plants. As you beginning your journey to the steps, you turn a corner to the most beautiful views. This beach is perfect for swimming as the waves are very calm and the sand is soft. As low tide approaches you will begin to see the sandbar emerge. This beach gives you the ability to walk 20-40 feet out into the ocean. Ankle deep in some places. Great place for any swimmer. The sandbar is a must see. Childrens Beach is a five minute walk away. The Sandbar restaurant is right behind Children's Beach. A short walk and you can have a delicious meal or bathroom break.

My daughters and I made the trek to Steps Beach from our B&B early on Saturday morning to catch the sunrise. It was unfortunately very overcast but the sound of the water was a refreshing way to wake up and enjoy the coming day. We were there by 5am and only one other person was there. Sand was very clean and the water looked inviting. We had a great visit and my daughters for some great photo memories. Trail to the beach has stairs so be prepared for a little adventure but worth the experience.

The best beach for kids (IMO) even when compared to Children’s Beach. Low tide is the best with dozens of sandbars available throughout. Plenty of parking but make sure you’re prepared for the long walk to the beach via path and steps - 100% worth it.

Apart from the fact that Google maps didnt get the right address and points to a nondescript place in New Jersey - this beach is in fact on Nantucket :) - it is truly wonderful! Note: it got corrected after 3 months of submission, so all good now :) If anyone local could add an even more exact address would be great! I didnt swim here, but went there on my morning walks. Every morning there were swimmers in the ocean but apart from only a handful of walkers this beach is empty yet so serene....
