Super busy with a band today and the vibe was great! Lobster Cobb was delicious. Not happy about our server, however. She was extremely rude and condescending. She brought our kids drinks and my husband thought maybe she hadn’t heard his beer order so he just politely said “oh and I ordered XYZ beer.” Her response: “I don’t control the bar, it will be out soon” and walked away. We just looked at each other, perplexed by the inappropriate response. My mother ordered a margarita but it was extremely sweet, so after sitting there for 20 minutes and just not being able to choke it down she finally asked the server if she could send it back and ordered a painkiller instead (I was drinking them, they were very good.) She said sure no problem. When the bill came, we realized she still charged us $16 for the margarita we sent back that was completely full and never drank. When my husband brought this to her attention, her response was, “well she drank from it so I couldn’t send it back”. I WISH I had heard this response, because I would have said, “ok we will just take it out of your tip then!” Had we known she was not going to take it off the bill we would have had her keep it at the table and one of us would have drank it! My husband, being the nice guy he is still left her $46 (20%) and did not argue with her. Lesson learned: my husbands too nice and the service at Sandbar...
Read moreThis a response to Anita’s review (aka probably the owners) First of all, there were already multiple reviews about poor service at your restaurant before ours, so this is not an isolated incident. From the moment we were seated, our waiter treated us as if we were a burden rather than guests. His attitude was extremely rude and dismissive (news flash buddy you’re in the hospitality industry, and service is a big part of how much $ people tip).
After leaving, our group went to another oyster restaurant by the pier where we spent over a thousand dollars. While the amount doesn’t matter in itself, it the fact that the money could have easily gone to your establishment if we had received basic respect and decent service.
It seems like you automatically took the side of your employee , I would take a serious look at all of your reviews mentioning poor service you clearly have some bad apples working for you. You’re fortunate to have a prime location, because in the long run, consistent bad service will catch up to you. Also, your waiter was acting like a little dweeb I would love to see him working somewhere else , trust me he wouldn’t last long , the woman waitresses were respectful and accommodating I have nothing bad to say...
Read moreWe went up to the booth and asked for a table. We waited for three minutes and a different girl in a dress asked us to wait outside. We did and we stood or there forever. We then missed our table because they didn't know where we were. We then asked to get out table soon as we where then seated a few minutes later. The waiter we was was perfect. None of this was the waiters fault too. So I told the waiter my allergys and she asked the chef if the stuff for my food is fine. The chef said yes. I have a main glueten allergy. I receive my food and I got the same as my family as they where not glueten free. I saw how the bread looked the same as theirs and they said it was fine. I stared eating my food and I noticed how I asked for cheddar cheese and I couldn't have the American cheese form an ingredient in it, it tasted and look like American cheese. So I asked the waiter to see if it's cheddar. They brought out a new one with orange cheese as I asked them out of curiousity if the bread was really glueten free. Turns out it was not. And the side effects for eating it is horrible for me. They gave us a giant discount though. The final glueten free food they gave me was excellent. Great...
