This hotel is the cleanest and perhaps nicest hotel we have ever stayed in! My wife and I spent 3 nights here on a business trip in early September 2024. We travel frequently for work (we're pilots) and this hotel is noteworthy in a several ways. The most memorable aspect is how incredibly clean it is. As we noticed the cleanliness, we were compelled to see just how clean...there was no dust on the picture frames, no dust on the lamps, no dust behind the side tables, no mildew on the grout in the shower (we learned they bleach the shower between each guest, yet there was no lingering smell of bleach!). They constantly sweep off the porches and walkways so, amazingly for a beach resort, it's easy to not track sand into the rooms. They even remove the covers and pillows from the outside chairs nightly, so they stay clean and fresh. On a day that we saw the housekeepers refreshing our room...there were 7 of them knocking it out team-style! And while they were cleaning they were chatting, laughing, and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Our interpretation is that their happiness conveyed beautifully to their high-quality work.
Other memorable aspects were the comfortable beds, the extensive collection of art and decor (which makes investigating all the corners of the hotel a treat), the beautiful breakfast spread (it was simple yet thoughtful and delicious), and the amazing staff. We had many pleasant interactions with the staff and found them to be extra engaging. We had a great chat with the owner when we commented on some vases decorating the great-room that we were especially fond of...and she gave them to us!
The great room was an especially inviting place to be. While at most hotels I enjoy passing through their common areas, this was the first that I actually spent time in. On multiple evenings we'd have tea (their coffee and tea service was available all day and night, until 9 or 10 pm or so I believe) while hanging out in the great room. The lighting is great, there is an impressively diverse collection of plants, and there is a nice amount of decor items and art. And each night they light real candles, many dozens of them, and put them all around the room and inside of the art pieces.
The attention to detail, the staff morale, and of course the unmatched cleanliness all came together to make this hotel an exceptionally memorable place that we would highly recommend to stay...
Read moreMy wife and I recently spent 4 nights at Cliffside. The property is located right on the beach and out at the end of the island, so very quiet and away from the hustle of the small downtown area. It is about a 15 minute walk into downtown, so an easy stroll.||||We stayed in one of their beachfront suites. It was very nice and well decorated. Nice porch to sit and walk right onto the beach. Great view every night of the sunset as well. The suite had a small kitchen and a very large bathroom, including washer and dryer.||||The service at Cliffside is outstanding. Everyone is great and always available to assist with any needs. One thing that blew us away was that one morning after it had rained over night, the staff came by and replaced all the cushions on the porch chairs with dry ones, so we could sit outside first thing that morning. We never asked, they just came by and did it.||||They offer a very nice continental breakfast with a good selection of pastries, breads, doughnuts, fruit and yogurt. There is the Galley restaurant onsite, but we did not have any meals there.||||I highly recommend this property for any visit to Nantucket. I also really recommend you visit over Columbus Day weekend, as most of the island has started to clear out for the season. The crowds are non existent and most everything is still open and operating. It seems like Columbus Day weekend is the true end of season for Nantucket.||||Again, a quick 15 minute walk and you can be downtown for the all the great restaurants, shops and activities that Nantucket has to offer. If you are not into walking, it is pretty easy to get Uber, Lyft or have the staff call a taxi.||||Another recommendation is to work with the resort staff to rent a Jeep for the day. Great way to tour the entire island and all the different beaches. There are also several off road opportunities to drive on the beach out to some of the most beautiful points and lighthouses.||||We will definitely be back to Nantucket in the fall and our first call for accommodations will...
Read morePROs: location, location, location. this place sits directly on a private beach, provides beach chairs, umbrellas, and food/drink to the chairs, sunsets are amazing here. the pool area is great as well if the beach is a bit too windy some days. the rooms are big, the bed is comfortable, and everything was very clean. the staff was super friendly and helpful. they provide a complimentary shuttle into town in the evenings for dinner, we had made a reservation a bit outside of town for dinner and they were stilling willing to take us there. my husband spilled a drink on his shorts/shirt, they did his laundry free of charge. ||||CONs: breakfast is included in your stay, but for the minimum of $750+/night, breakfast left much to be desired. it was a simple continental breakfast with prepackaged cereal, yogurt, assorted pastries and fruits (banana, oranges, ect). they could atleast provide an egg, toast and sliced fruit/parfait options. ||||the restaurant on site is outrageously overpriced and food is ok at best. lunch we had two soups and Caesar salad at $100. appetizer size lobster spring rolls (plural) was actually a single small spring roll cut in half for $30. we ate out on the island all four nights for dinner. the restaurant here was one of the most expensive and our least favorite. save your money and eat elsewhere. ||||ROOM TIP: all the "angle" rooms provided basically the same view of the beach. unless its SUPER important to you to see the beach from your room, I would either pay up for the front-facing cottage rooms or select the cheapest angle room available. ||||also - room 115 is the closest angle room to the front desk. quiet at night, but early in the morning can be a bit noising with the staff walking around on the deck behind the room. usually woke us up around 8/830AM. not a deal breaker for the room if only one available, not constant noise. ||||Overall - loved are stay. staff was great. location cant be beat. would definitely...
