Today was my first time visiting this place, I came in with my little brother and my husband so excited because we love these kind of icecream and desserts. We were greeted by Alexandra L, I told her it was our first time in there, I was hoping to get a walk through of what the place is about and what they sell. Wasn’t too lucky to get that so I kind of walked around by myself to look at the ice creams and fruits. I got the feeling that Alejandra was not trying to be too helpful since I was trying to get mangoes covered with chamoy and she was at the register on her phone. I asked if I could get one and it took her a little long to even put her phone down and help us, she was bothered that we were in there, despite being the only ones in there. She finally got me the mangoes for my little brother then went straight back into her phone. I started being curious about the popsicles. While I was standing in front of the cooler I have to raise my voice across the room to ask if they had cookies and cream cause I couldn’t find it, she takes a while to respond then goes “yes” and doesn’t bother to come get me one, so I start getting frustrated because we just wanted some help, so I said can I please get some help here?, She frustratedly puts her phone down again after ignoring me for a little and finally comes to help. I ask her to give me a chocolate covered banana for my husband, then after receiving it I said I can’t find the cookies and cream one, and instead of her grabbing one for me and showing me where they are, she just stands there’s and goes “it’s right there girll (doesn’t even bother to point where) at this point I’m still wondering where is cause I don’t see it, they’re not labeled. So I apologize and say “sorry I still don’t see it, I’m sorry I’m kind of blind” and she frustratedly finally points at it. But doesn’t not grab me one…? So I ask can I have one then we go check out. While she’s figuring out the check I look to my left and see 3 containers of drinks. At this point she’s back on her phone. So I asked, ma’am, what are these? Hoping she’d tell me the flavor of them. She stays on her phone for a second then finally responds “they’re drinks” so I said “i know but what flavor are they?” She doesn’t even look up at me she’s just ok her phone then goes “horchata” but then I’m thinking all the all 3 horchata? Cause I asked “what are THESE”. So I say are they different flavors of horchata? She looks at me like that’s a silly question…? Then gets back on her phone and says “no, the pink one is strawberry” so I’m still wondering what the THIRD flavor is, so I HAVE to ask “what is this one then” she DOES NOT respond just stays on her phone… so I took a guess and said is it tamarindo? And she goes “yes” very frustrated, which frustrated me because all I was asking was for 5 min of attention. I pay and still left a $5 tip. Hopefully next time we come in we get treated a little bit more appropriately and appreciated for coming in, but if I ever come in and it’s Alejandra again, I’m gonna have to leave because I don’t wanna be somewhere where I’m not welcomed. OVERALL THO! all 3 things we bought were AMAZING, the popsicle was incredible, the banana split was delicious and the mangoes were HEAVENLY. I love the quality of the food and will definitely be coming back for more, the owners know what they’re doing when it comes to flavor. Thank yall for those...
Read moreMy ice cream at Sweet Sofia is very good, but the experience we had today with the clerk was disappointing. Normally service has been fine, but today it felt unnecessarily rude.
I came in with my 2-year-old for a scoop. Like any toddler, he was just walking around quietly, but the clerk told him to stay right next to me, then came over almost shouting that he must stay at my side at all times. It felt harsh and out of place for an ice cream shop.
Later, when we came back with my older son, my younger one asked for a spoon to taste his brother’s ice cream. The clerk refused, saying he had already used two spoons on a previous visit. I didn’t realize spoons were being tracked per customer.
Ice cream shops should feel fun and welcoming for children and families. I truly hope the owner sees this and responds, because the product is great and I’d like to continue coming here. just not if this kind of treatment...
Read moreLove this place!!!! This is our new favorite place to stop for after school snacks!! I’ve never liked popsicles or anything like it until I tried their paletas!! They are SOOO good! I’ve always been a “chocolate only” type of girl, no fruity flavors or even vanilla, until I tried their paletas! Their strawberry paletas with the fresh sliced strawberries are amazing!!! And the vanilla with the sliced mixed fruit too! My boys love their ice cream (I haven’t tried it yet, too busy eating all their paletas!) The restaurant has such a great vibe & lots of seating! Kids tables, booths, high counter looking out the window, couch up against the amazing flower wall, & cute outside tables too! They have a pretty big food menu too! Everything is fresh and delicious! Everyone that works there is so kind, it’s just a really awesome...
