LA CHULA MEXICAN RESTAURANT BELLEVUE — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

This was a rough one, walking into the door all we could smell was sewage. That should have just been the indicator to walk out. We decided to stay and eat and nobody was impressed with anything. Salsa is red water almost no actual salsa, the Queso has little to no flavor, use actual queso not queso Fresca melted in water not only is the taste bad but the appearance of water chunky queso from the Fresca cheese clumping in the liquid is utterly appalling and looks unappetizing. Chips were stale and under salted, if they were hand made they were made at least 3 days ago. I had the Breakfast burrito 5/10 honestly nothing to write home about standard bacon egg cheese burrito missing the hash browns I ordered , we got the Flautas as well actually 8/10 from that customer just over fried. We also had the California Nachos 6/10 nothing special lacked flavor but not a horrible. We had one other dish I can’t remember the name of started with an R and looked like schnitzel. Ordered two margaritas, definitely need more ingredients than lime juice,water and cheap tequila, 2/10 margaritas (less frills on the marg and more flavor orange juice dash of lemon triple sec or Grand Marnier with a dash of Agave) the place needs a cleaning, the mop water needs to be changed. The floor felt like I was in the kitchen cooking on the friers with oil landing on the floor, i could literally slide my feet across the tile it was so slippery in the main dining area. Some of the lighting fixtures like the 10 hanging lights in a circle all plugged into one power strip above the bar with saggy old cieling tiles, it’s just a bad look all around, now for some praises, Anri our server was very nice and he was attentive, the staff we interacted with were great and the best part of dining experience. Soccer teams were in the United States from all over the world this weekend of June 14th 2025. Two different teams ordered food for their soccer players after the game from La Chula on Saturday night and Sunday night. Unfortunately the husband and wife are fighting because of a divorce and the wife is in charge of La Chula so she, to get back at her husband, refuse to make the food for the Canadian soccer players who came to Nashville to have a good time. Not only did she refuse to make the food but she didn't bother letting ez cater know so the hungry boys could have ordered something else to eat. Instead I show up to pick up the food and they give me the runaround for 30 minutes before she tells me to go to her husband's taco shop down the road and pick up the food there. I drive up there and he tells me he cannot make the food because the payment is going to his wife's restaurant La Chula but she refused to make the food. To make a long sad story short, this lady let her anger at her husband get in the way of $1,000 worth of food. soccer teams from around the world coming to Nashville, and making a good name for her restaurant. I would not recommend anybody going to this Petty woman's place of business. What a horrible business person she is and we canceled every order that we have with her going forward. La Chula I would not recommend they may not even be there if she happens to be in a bad mood. 99% of my reviews are five stars so to give a one-star means it's really really horrible and she is and was. I sent a review on the site already but I had to make another because I realized they only gave me 1 taco even tho I was missing 2. I love this place, forever my go to taco place only 2mins down the road from me but tonight I was disappointed in the service. I was ignored for 20mins just for a pick up order. All I needed was a forgotten item and when I tried to make it known at first the server just told me to take it and it was good but I counted prior the items but I trusted her until I got in my car and saw I was missing a whole order.. I wouldn't be upset if it was a quick fix but I was ignored for 20mins and nothing was even going on.. the server before even passed me 8 times and didn't acknowledge me. Her kid or one if the employees kids noticed me and tried to help me more than the staff,, kid was like 4. If it wasn't for the guy finally asking me what I was picking up, after I came back in the second time to get noticed, I would probably be ignored for another 20mins. Food that took only 10mins to make took 30mins to pick up. As a server I tipped becuz I know the work the kitchen puts in but I 1000% would've not tipped at all becuz of the service :( I'm so sad.
