I called ahead to see if they had the color I was looking for but they didn't I ended up going anyway. I believe the associates name was dan but I really can't remember. the guy on the phone remembered me right away(dan) and got the model I was considering. he set me up with an amp and stool right away and gave me a tuner to so I could get the guitar in tune. the amp wasn't working right and he immediately set me up with a new amp and took out the bad one to troubleshoot later. their was no pressure and I tried out every song/chords I could to make sure it was the guitar for me. as I was about to make my purchase I noticed a used fender tube amp for the same price I had budgeted for a solid state amp. I checked out the amp to make sure no tubes were blown it was in excellent condition and sounded great. dan then ordered the guitar for me exact color and all and was quite knowledgeable on the model. when I asked about the amp he said the store hadn't held it for 30 days yet as is the law but if he could determine the person who traded it in was the same person who bought it new then he could sell it. (proving it wasn't stolen) he worked the phones for a while calling corporate to track down the purchase and trade in names. which certainly must have been frustrating but he finally confirmed they were the same person and he could sell it. I walked away with a great lightly used amp and my dream guitar on the way. I picked up the guitar from my local store which is actually closer and am very happy with the guitar and the great service I...
Read moreI'm seeing some pretty unhappy customers. This is my favorite store. I have traded in many things here and bought plenty of items here, not just guitars. I guess the difference is what your expectations are. I look at GC as a car dealership for guitars. They're trying to make a buck. They can't make a buck by giving you what you think your trade in is worth. All of us think we should get more for what we trade but that's not the case. I think the method they use to determine the trade amount is fair. I have bought used guitars there that needed work, of course they will try to sell it to you and try to con you into returning it to their tech to repair so they can make a few bucks but I have also stomped my feet and demand they fix the problem and on a few occasions they did. If they don't want to cooperate, they lose the sale. I really like their return policy, you can pretty much tell if that guitar you fell in love with is right for you but when you bring it home or to a gig it usually sounds different than when it's in the acoustic room. And I have returned many guitars or returned and purchased other guitars for that reason. I'm Extreeeeeemly fussy when it comes to guitar tone and feel and GC lets me be me. All in all, I like this store. I have no real complaints. I don't have really high expectations of them either, I know what I'm looking for and I know if the deal feels right to me. If not,...
