New Review 4/27/2021:

We have noticed a decline in the quality of the products that we have purchased from not only this Manolo in National City but also a Manolo supermarket in Chula Vista.

We recently purchased our weekly groceries at Manolo in National City. Among the items we have purchased was Joseph Farms cheese. When we got home and opened the cheese it was spoiled, smelled funny and had green spots on it. Since this Manolo was out of our way we didn't go back to the supermarket for a refund.

Days later, we were close to the Chula Vista Manolo and decided to purchase the Joseph Farms cheese again. To our surprise this one was also spoiled, smelled funny and had green spots on it.

We believe that there is an issue either with the refrigeration with their supplier or a problem with the fridge temperatures at each one of these locations.

For us, we are not buying any refrigerated products from Manolo again. Twice is enough

Older Review:

Didn't even know this supermarket existed until recently when driving by. We decided to stop and shop here for our weekly groceries and where not disappointed. They have a great selection of items at competitive prices. We like their prepared food section. Everything was clean and everyone was wearing a mask....

I loved this place when it was IGA. Since the change the quality of the food (restaurant) and customer service has gone down. I stopped today because my mom wanted carnitas from this store. I went shopping and then stopped at the restaurant and waited 15 minutes to be skipped in line and not be served. I had to wait 5 more minutes before being served. Then I went to the cashier to pay for my groceries and asked for bags. They only gave me 2 and didn't even bagged my groceries. The cashier was busy asking the bagger her plans for the weekend. I use the term bagger loosely because she wasn't even bagging my groceries. If you can't multitask maybe you shouldn't be talking and actually do your job and bag the customer's groceries. I will not be shopping here anymore because of this lack of customer service even though its really close to my house. I rather drive farther and get better service...

They sell MOLDY EXPIRED FOOD!!I I often find expired items throughout the refrigerators, therefore I make sure to keep an eye whenever I buy something there. However, twice, I have forgotten to check and sure enough, the food has been moldy. One time it was queso fresco as the image below shows, the cheese said it would expire on Aug 19th yet it was moldy by Aug 11th. This week, for thanksgiving we bought bacon from the sale shown below, and it had expired MONTHS before, it smelled bad, the cashier Natalia told me that it was my fault for not checking when I buy things, especially if I claimed that it had happened before. She went over to a supervisor to double check to see if they could help me, and they asked me to bring back the rotten bacon to the store to get my money back. Who is going to transport rotten pork back and forth? I will report this to the...

Nice local Mexican market. Tried the Jalapeno Cheese Tamales, Ham Torta, and the Mini Cherry Cheesecake Pie. All were very tasty, fresh, and fairly priced. Update: Got a Ham Torta, Frijoles Puerco, and a dozen Corn Muffins. All were very good. Update: Got the Grilled Chicken Leg Quarters; Ham & Cheese Sandwich; Mexican Rice; and Refried Beans. All were very good. Update: Got Chicken Tinga; Mexican Rice; Refried Beans; and Panque Redondo. All were very good. Update: Got the Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, Refried Beans, and Ham & Cheese Sandwich. All were very good. Update: Got Refried Beans, Cheese and Jalapeno Tamales, and Drumsticks and Rice meal. Update: Got a Rotisserie Chicken; Mexican Rice; and Refried Beans. Everything was very good. Update: Got a quart of Frijoles and a Rotisserie Chicken. Both were very good.
