Beach, Boardwalk, and views... a nice gem and a good place for kids. This is not an extensive area but it sure packs it in the positives. Small beach area, nice sand, nice views of the bay (sometimes the Jet skis out there in the bay can be distracting). There is a boardwalk above the beach area with benches. There is a nice playground area for the kids and an adjacent pavilion for parties etc. Very clean area. There is some sort of bring your own Kayak station also... need more info on that... but cool. Lots of parking (or perhaps just enough) to make sure this place has a good balance of folks to area ratio. There are horseshoe courts that no one seemed interested in. I would not recommend letting kids in the water at all (swimming itself is banned here, and there are signs not to harvest shellfish - that should be all you need to know, I am sure this area is in recovery ecologically but right now... be wary with the little ones - great chance to let them play in a big sandbox though!) Want somewhere to chill and just look out over open water?...

Park at sunset is a very hostile and dangerous place to be secondly this spot is or was a hangout for bad kids back when I was Younger and it wasn't that long ago so no doubt trouble makers and bad kids still hang around here at times though I will give this park some credit at times I guess it would be a good place you can have a picnic play bachi and there is a playground for the kids and they also added in a boardwalk along the small beach there so I assume you could fish there as well or swim anyway I rated 3 stars it's okay just get out of there by sunset and you will be fine and if you see a bad group there simply call the police asap or just leave it's a horrible park where nothing but...

As my daughter says, "It's the beach that's not a beach". There is sand, but it is on the Neptune City side of the Belmar/Shark River Hills inlet. Nice park, well kept, 4 Bocce ball courts (I am not exactly sure how the use is determined), lots of kayaks and paddle boarders use the easy access. My son has fished here, went down around the corner, away from bathers! Nice Memorials! I have not seen the bathrooms open yet! Nice place to sit on a bench and enjoy the water, without having to deal with parking...

I found this lovely, quiet park by accident. It’s directly overlooking the bay in a nice little slice of a neighborhood. It was lunchtime on a weekday and others were at picnic tables, walking their dogs on the beach and watching kids playing in the playground. I’m sure I’ll return.

One of Monmouth County’s hidden gems. A spectacular place to catch a sunset on the Shark river and well maintained park. Dog friendly, picnic tables, playground and small boardwalk overlooking a Sandy beach. There’s also a kayak launch and paid storage for them.
