Sunsets Riverfront Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Neptune Township

My wife and I arrived at sunset at approximately 3:30 PM we wanted decent seats at the bar because the band was supposed to come on at 4 PM. When we arrive and ordered our drinks the young female bartender asked if we would like to have an open tab and if so please give her a credit card. I gave her my credit card. After receiving our drinks we ordered snacks. At 4:10 PM a band had not arrived yet I asked the bartender when the music will start she informed us the band is going to be late and should arrive at 5 PM. We thought about it for a few minutes and decided to leave a male bartender was near us and I Ask for my check, he put a check on the counter for $32.72 I handed $40 to the bar tender and told him to keep the change. Two weeks later when I received my credit card statement it was a charge for $32.72 from sunset restaurant. I called the restaurant and the bar made said a manager will be calling me back Shortly. I never received a call and called back on two more occasions the phone was never answered nor can I leave a message. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge I lost the dispute Because I did not have proof that I paid in cash. I will never go back to this restaurant again and will advise that anybody that goes there get receipts for either cash or credit cards and do not order snacks as...

Went here with family over the weekend. There was a few tables but it wasn't crazy busy. We waited 10 min before anyone even greeted us at the hostess stand, which remained unmanned all night. The Service was dreadful. Our waitress was incompetent to say the least. She was inattentive and terribly slow. She allowed dishes and glasses to build up on t the table without ever clearing an empty glass or dirty dish. We had to ask to have our table bussed several times without success. When dinner finally we had to ask once again for them to clear our table as they just shuffled dishes around the table.

Food was sub par. The bread that was served with the "dipping spreads" (hummus, corn salsa, and bruschetta) was hard as a rock to the point were we completely gave up on attempting to eat it. We had asked about the crab stuffing prior to ordering specifically if it was all bread or mostly crab. we were assured that it was big chunks of lump crab meat and very little breading. This was not the case. It was a dry bread mixture with a few pieces of shredded crab found in one or two bites.

This place has potential. The waitress was sweet, apologized for how busy she was up front ( not her fault) clearly understaffed, as I think the manager may have even bussing tables and hostessing and not happy about it. Anyway, view was great, music not my cup of tea and too loud but the majority was enjoying so kudos! But then the obvious we came to eat and the food was terrible. It took forever, kitchen backed up ok fine, but it was cold, not seasoned at all, like literally not even salt and pepper. Ever try eating cold seafood that is not even flavored. 😑. Not the waitresses fault probably not even the cooked fault as this place got good reviews ( that's how we ended up there). But to pay 32 for 4 shrimp that are ice cold and hard chewy as rubber is pretty annoying. I'm not the one to complain or send food back who knows how it will come back to you right. I'll just leave it here that if your gonna charge 20 dollars for apps and 30 something for entrees let them be flavorful and hot!
