The Yale Bowl is a great place to watch a game for any college football fan who wants to feel the history of the game. The stadium was built in 1914 and inspired the building of other “bowl stadiums” in the US, such as the Rose Bowl. The stadium was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1987. The sight lines in the stadium are great and although it fits 60,000 people there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. No matter where you sit it feels like you’re close to the field even though you are actually far away. They still have wooden bleachers throughout the stadium which adds to the sense of history. For most football games there are probably no more than 5,000 people in attendance and you can sit almost anywhere you would like. There is a relaxed fan atmosphere at most games. The stadium is especially beautiful in the fall as you can view the foliage that surrounds the stadium.. For football games the stadium offers a variety of local food trucks that can be found on the outer ring of the stadium. There are also a few moderately priced stadium concession stands. There are also Yale merchandise tents found near the concession areas. Tickets can be purchased at the stadium for most games. You can also get them online. There are many parking options available, and on most days there is plenty of room in the lots. There is a laid-back tailgating scene at most games. Downtown New Haven isn’t too far away. If you can take in the Walter Camp Memorial, which is dedicated to one of the great founders of the game of football. It is located at the entrance to the stadium. Definitely, a must for anyone who wants to experience a historic college football venue. A beautiful place to see a game!

A remarkable American football stadium. Built in 1914, it was America's first bowl-shaped stadium and inspired others, including the famous Rose Bowl. With room for 61,446 people, this open-air venue offers a splendid variety of open seats, whether you prefer a bird's-eye view or a close-up of the action. In 1987, it became a National Historic Landmark, recognizing its importance in American sports. The Yale Bowl has hosted more than just Yale's football gamners; for a brief time in the 197Os, it was even home to the New York Giants professional team. Unlike modern stadiums, it keeps things traditional. There are no locker rooms inside - players nmust walk from nearby buildings to the field, a charming custom that builds team spirit. The Yale Bowl may lack modern luxuries, but it makes up for it with character and history. It's a place where thousands come together, united by their love of sport. The Yale Bowl does just that through the power of athletic...

Great job on security, signage and parking. Very organized. I thought the food was ok. Snack shack's were good and fairly priced. Had a few good food trucks. Could use more trucks and variety. And spread them out. Beer garden was below average. Two stands to buy beer with limited variety and only like 10 or so hight tables. Should get some local breweries in there to support the team and build the garden up a little. Could ask for Alumni donations of outdoor furniture. something to that end. The stadium itself needs some TLC. Wooden benches??? Really? Aside from that, the scoreboard needs replacing and so does the sound and the lighting system system. I was looking for instant replays...
