Michaelangelo Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in West Haven

Soooo upon entering, we were greeted with a big smile and cheerful energy! I visited with another trucker who stated he ate there b4. We placed our order. I ordered egg plant fried Xtra crispy! I order it that way ALL the time. Co- worker ordered tuna sub. When chef got ticket , he said no more tuna. Then he said I can get you some in 7mins. Which was a plus for me . I kno co- worker was happy bc he has been trying to get a tuna sub for days. Big Y was out the other dAy. Anywho.. when I got my sub, it looked so hot and yummy. However, the eggplant was NOT crispy. It was slimey sliding all out sub. I went to counter, CSR said is something the matter. I said I ordered my eggplant 🍆 xtra crispy and it’s not. She said well I don’t know what to tell you because it’s already cooked Well.. that’s what I ordered.(in my head) then I told her, I apologize I’ve never been here b4 so I didn’t kno. She said it’s ok . Normally my eggplant is dipped in batter and fried. However, if that were not the case she could have simply said that is not how we make it. She asked if I wanted something else . Threw sub away with attitude NEVER made anymore eye contact. I ordered salami, pepperoni and capicola toasted provolone and Swiss. Got sandwich 10 min later , not toasted and no Swiss. I just knew they were gonna try and piss me off bc I returned a sub. So I did not eat it there. By this time, my co worker was done eating . I walked out with cold sub bc I felt it and it was not toasted or hot. I said Thanx. Btw: the person who took order decided to let someone else hand it to me. Geesh I paid for what I wanted. Why have a attitude?? Seemed so pleasant in beginning. I am a great cook as well as my family with EXCELLENT customer service. We are soon opening a restaurant. If customers are not pleased. I won’t get upset. Just fix the order . Is that too much to ask?? The 2 stars are for the greeting we got and the chef who wanted to please customer by...

My family has been coming to this location for at least 25 years...I myself was just here for bread this past week (February 22 or 23rd) but NEVER have I had a person (who was NOT the person waiting on me) yelling at me from behind the counter, for something as simple as bread size. NEVER. This young lady (short, stout, red haired) was, to put it bluntly LOUD and NASTY. I'm not sure what the business is looking to represent. I can only hope it's not that. Customer service is paramount esp during this time. Hopefully customers will get more of what they deserve and less of what I experienced.

If you want a true, quality pizza try Abate, Next Door, Aladdin, Modern. For bread check the Ciabatta Co,, Lupi Legna...

Im not sure why I never tried them before i had them on Saturday, but this place is amazing!!! Not only do they make their own bread fresh daily, but their food quality is top notch!! The staff was super nice and welcoming as me being a first time customer and even offered me one of their signature baked cookies! They were so convinced i would like it that they offered to give it to me for free if i didnt! it was amazing btw. they will see me plenty of more times and their bread is absolutely heavenly and doughy and fresh with their sandwiches!
