Wilmette Beach — Attraction in New Trier Township

Nice beach, but the people here are definitely racially biased. My friend and I were the only ones who had to pay for the entry wristband out of the many white people who entered without paying any fee… the guy specifically told us we have to get a wristband. I don’t remember paying for this entrance fee a few years ago when I came with my white friends. $17 for the wrist band and then $26 for parking is insane. Especially the day that we went you couldn’t even swim. I arrived at this beach around 6:45 PM. The gate at the entrance was open, and no one stopped me to ask for payment. The parking lot was almost empty. I paid for entry to the beach and stayed there for about 45 minutes. When I returned, I found a $100 fine on my car. I approached a staff member with questions, but received no response. We had an extremely disappointing experience. The staff was unprofessional and discourteous. Despite charging us $68, we were not provided with a receipt. Unfortunately, due to thunder in the area, we were unable to enjoy our time at the beach.
