I am a former employee of the Dog Wash ..I had worked as a bather/ receptionist on and off for a few years...rest assured your dog is in great hands...Karen the owner and Danny the other groomer do an amazing detailed groom on all clients...this is the only dog salon I've worked at where they really pay attention to any signs of stress a dog may show and will halt a groom and let the dog destress by letting it relax in a carrier with a warm towel before continuing...they use high quality product..and dawn is only used for breaking down dirt by thr butt or legs..and only mixed in small quantities with a high quality shampoo....Chris her right hand man does everything ...sanitizing the salon...reception work..dog bather..he is amazing and never complaines...I've read that prices may be a bit higher then other places..Karen pays a living Wage to her emploess...rent has gone up...insurance has gone up and the price of the high end quality product has risen as well...Karen is an amazing groomer and was great...

I worked there briefly as receptionist. Terrific staff and very professional. One thing bothered me.. their house shampoo was Dawn dishwashing liquid unless client had their own or working with specific groomer. DAWN is used on wildlife when industrial catastrophe happens. I hope by now she use dog pH balanced shampoo. Maybe Dawn works. I do know one friend who had her dog groomed there. She was treating treating her dog with vet prescribed meds for skin issue. Then I told her of Dawn... she started bringing own shampoo. Prob solved. Even dog shampoo can cause issues... just Dawn? Clients should always be informed. I have a doggy.. I care for her grooming. If I needed a groomer would I go to Dog...

It is quite expensive and there’s been a long wait to get an appointment since the pandemic, BUT they’re worth it.

Not only are they always lovely to deal with, they just do a GOOD JOB. At almost every other groomer, I have dealt with in Chicago, my dog came home with or rapidly developed some sort of hotspot that he would keep going at until I took him to the vet.

That has *never * happened at The Dog Wash. He always comes home happy and the affection that they feel for dogs is...
