I needed a place to pray while I was visiting Staten Island. Came across this big Masjid/School and was very happy to find a place to pray around here.
I had to knock in order to get in and was very confused because it was actually a school and a bunch of kids opened the door to me. There was actual classes and students in the hallway
A elderly women staff told me to go downstairs and pray there.
When I was downstairs a middle aged male staff told me I was not allowed to pray here when students are here, and ask who let me in etc, etc.
It is a major building complex and am very surprise they cannot dedicate any space for Muslims to pray in?

You people forgot, it’s NOT your house, it’s a Gods house that is open to all worshipers. You forgot we helped to build this mosque, we donated money. You forgot money for your mosque were collected around the city and many many people donated during Juma namaz. Our family stopped going here, we are at the targee street mosque or brooklyn. This place is getting worse, person whose teaching classes acting like a business owner, I don’t know if imam even aware of how these people act. I know a lot of people who stopped coming here. ...
Read moreI have came to this masjid 3 times in total and it is always empty , but today I discovered why it’s empty. I was unwelcomed by 8 men who were having a meeting and told me I can’t go upstairs to the ladies room to pray and told me to pray infront of them in an open area . As a Muslim women I felt so humiliated and uncomfortable why would I be told to do that while my intentions was to pray upstairs in the ladies section on a clean floor. Never ever seen something like this , do better management not everything revolves around money you just misguided someone away from prayer .May Allah humble you for being so arrogant and...
