The location itself seems to be bad luck. All the businesses at the end of this block go out of business: the barber shop moved to Cebra & Victory to avoid this fate. The church people who run The Mustard Seed on Forest Ave had the La Plaza space pre-pandemic; they folded for obvious reasons. This new iteration, La Plaza, is okay. Nothing really appealed to me after perusing all the aisles (small space), so I got a few small bags of plantain chips just to support local business. When I got to register and asked price and the guy said "$1.50" that was quite unappealing. I must've made an involuntary facial reaction that the guy interpreted as I'M ABOUT TO PUT THESE PLANTAIN CHIPS RIGHT BACK ON THE SHELF, so then he switches to "$1.25" and although I still didn't care for spending $5 for just four small bags of plantain chips, I did it (again, to support local business). Others who are interested in more cultural food items (La Plaza carries mostly Mexican based ones) like various hot sauces, you may find something here to your liking. As for me, unless the guy switches the plantain chips price again--to no more than 99-cents (they didn't even taste that great)--I don't see myself returning back here. Supporting local business can only go so far...

The reviews did not disappoint. Wow, this food was authentic and very tasty. Took a while to cook but I saw that as a good thing! Very close to home so I will be making this a regular visit. Got beer as well and most random items you never know when you might need in a pinch.

I've seen businesses come and go at this location, so to my gastronomic detriment I didn't bother to try it. Boy was I wrong! This is quite possibly the best Mexican food I've had in New York!!! Having spent time in the Navy stationed in San Diego and visiting Mexico many times I grew to love this cuisine. I've had good Mexican food in NYC, but this place is special, everything on the menu is delicious! Highly...

We went to La Plaza a few weeks ago and have been recommending it to everyone since. My family of three all had different tacos and all were so delicious and fresh! Staff is friendly and accommodating (we left with new hot sauces and tamarind treats that we’d never tried before), restaurant is clean and STOCKED. I’d recommend making this your...
