First off, the salon is beautiful. It's decorated nicely, looks clean and doesn't smell like chemicals. My experience there was pretty bad tho. I initially went in on Saturday around 11am. There was one person getting a manicure and one getting a pedicure. I waited for the receptionist to come from the back after being called, only for her to tell me that she had no available slots for the rest of the day and that I could make an appointment for 1pm the next day. I have been looking for a black owned nail salon so I agreed. I returned the next day and again, no patrons were inside...weird for a nail salon in queens in the afternoon. My tech Dorsia was setting up while I chose a color...no biggie. I noted that the mimosa that's supposed to come with a Sunday treatment was never mentioned. I don't day drink so I let it go. First was the pedicure, which went fairly well. The nails were cut a little too low, which didn't leave room for even filing, so my toes are not perfectly square the way I'd like but I'll live. Next was the fill in. Deplorable. Let me note that I've visited salons in queens and LI for 20 years getting nails done. I've never had a poorer experience. She used way too much acrylic and the nails are thick and uneven. She kept filing and grinding my cuticles...literally every finger to the point where I had to say something. Two fingers have scarring from being ground. There are bubbles and lumps in the polish. I asked if she had sample designs and she said no, so my nails are just plain blue. After one week, my nails have grown and the acrylic is coming up because it was attached to my finger and not my nail. I really wanted to love this place and maybe it's cool for winter pedicures, but definitely do not do nails here. Just a mess. I cant wait to go to my usual tech and have her fix this. Then I go to pay and she tells me that she charged me $5 extra on the pedi and fill for the polish color because I chose ombre. $10 for nail polish color! And then she didnt tell me until it was time to pay. And the color has not changed once so I just wasted my money. Just ridiculous. Save yourselves, your cuticles and...
Read moreVery beautiful salon the vibe in there is very relaxing and very upscale. However I’ve been here twice and both times the services were subpar. The first time I went the manicure was very sloppy (I got a gel manicure), I figured maybe it was just the nail tech so I decided to give it another try. This is a black owned business, and I have been searching for a black nail salon, so I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The second time I went I got a pedicure and gel manicure, the very next day the polish came off on one nail. I called and was able to come in the fix it free of charge with no problem the customer service was great. However the very next day another nail came off, and they just continued to come off, and I mean the entire nail polish just lifting up, and this is gel. Before a week went by most of my nail polish was off. I’m very disappointed. I will likely give this place another try because I really want to like it, but beware if this is...
Read moreThe vibe of this place is really great - it feels very luxurious inside and all of the people in there are very kind and professional. It truly is a boutique. During my visit for eyelash extensions I had a great time and an enjoyable conversation with my eyelash tech. I gave 3 stars though because the application was kind of rough and after a week my eyelashes were mostly gone. I usually go to bayside to get my lashes done and they seem to last longer and come Out only when my real eyelashes come out. The glue must not have been too strong though because the lashes just fall out on their own. ( i don’t wear eye makeup and wash around them so they’re not getting anything on them for the record.) it’s a black owned business so I say go to support but be warned the lashes don’t last for...
