Worst Cemetery!! Management are extremely warm & offer condolences to you on behalf of the death of your loved one ONLY up until they get our money and bury your loved one. After that you don't exist to them. Security pretty much don't exist here at this cemetery because there were new flowers and gifts left at my loved one's grave that was stolen at least FOUR times. We reported this to management and nothing was done, it was like speaking to a wall.
Besides stolen gifts from my loved one's grave, the Black male "security" guy harassed me for at least a year by constantly asking to go out with him. Recently this same guy LOCKED my mother who is a senior citizen in this cemetery in 90 degree weather, the police & local fire fighters broke locks to release my mother. She was then taken to the hospital by ambulance. This was reported to management & of course nothing was done, this guy still works there. Management didn't even bother calling my home to offer an apology or offer to pay my mother's medical bills due to their negligence. Burying my loved one in this cemetery was the WORST decision my family made.
Please Please educate yourself and be prepared for circumstances relating to the death of a loved. Do your homework especially about cemeteries and funeral arrangements, READ carefully all contracts before you sign, ask many questions. Talk to other family members in the cemetery about the quality of the company and management before you bury your loved one. I know this is extremely difficult to do when your grieving the death of a loved one but please be strong and not make the same mistake my family did. Remember that when your weakest in grief that leaves doors open for people to take advantage of you, acting like they care and are interested in your well being when their really not.
Remember cemeteries are in the business of burying your loved one. The day my loved one was to be buried here, this cemetery refused to move forward with the burial ceremony until my family member arrived with the bank check of about three thousand dollars, which was the balance due to bury my loved one. Mind you we had already paid this cemetery thousands of dollars to secure my loved one's grave plot.

Read moreThank you, Canarsie Cemetery, for providing outstanding burial services for my father, Ferdinall Brown. I especially want to thank Mr. Desmond for his professionalism and sympathy throughout the entire process. On the day of the burial, Mr. Desmond orchestrated a last-minute miracle. I can’t put into words how this miracle made us feel as a family, but for me it brought tears of gratitude. Ever since, I have been on a mission to figure out a way to repay Mr. Desmond and his team members, and to make this cemetery famous! Unfortunately, I can’t share the details of the miracle here, but I hope this review encourages you to use Canarsie Cemetery to bury your loved one. Mr. Desmond and his team exceeded our expectations of what it means to be sympathetic to a family enduring a moment of...
Read moreAccepting the passing of a parent is a challenge for me. My mother was buried on August 07th, 2017. I had three places to chose from. This was the first one on the list that was closest to my home. Before I even drove I'm in the lot, I KNEW this where I wanted my mother to be. Its not huge and swimming with tombstones like larger place. I visit at least three times per week and my flowers and balloons have not been tampered with. Flowers that are obviously useless were removed. But again, I'm there often enough to place fresh flowers on her resting place. I found the staff to be very nice. All three gentleman I spoken with. I like it so much that I have planned to be buried next to my mother. I dobt plan on needing it for another 50+ years, but planning...
