I spent 3-4 hours on this lovely and quiet beach during a layover from JFK airport. It’s much closer than going into the city and I needed a place to take a nap. I took the AirTrain to Howard beach station and walked here for 15 minutes. I was lucky not to have heavy bags and the weather was gorgeous. The neighborhood felt summer-towny and safe. There is also a kids park. To access the beach you have to follow the small trail on the left.

This is my secret place to go get away from it all. Just be cautious around high tide because the water will come up over the roads and it gets really deep. Just in case anyone else drives a lowered 🚙 stay safe never drive through deep water 💧 in the road way!😇

Part of Gateway National Recreation area, this small beach park is not a destination on its own but can be combined with visit to Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Views of the Cross Bay and A line subway bridges were highlights of the short visit.

This park is totally free, it is a good place for ADVENTURE and TAKE PHOTOES of blue sea, local fishermen and their super skill, subway (A) train and aeroplanes take off from JFK airport runway 31L. Sea wind makes people relax. HOWEVER I don't recommend here as a picnic place or amusement things. If you are going to this place without your car or bicycle, be ready for waiting for a Q11 bus bound for HAMILTON BEACH, or walk around 15 minutes from Howard Beach-JFK subway station. TIP for ride a Q11 bus FROM Howard Beach-JFK subway station: Check the bus on MYmta (MTA official app), if the bus is coming, then wait for it, ride it to the destination; If it is far away, then walk to the park, don't waste your time on wait for bus! This tip is also suitable for...

I'm here to tell you about Hamilton Beach Park. It's a small park near the train tracks, so it can get pretty loud sometimes. But if you're into fishing, you might like it because you can cast your line from the shore and catch some fish. They also have a playground and a basketball court, so if you have kids and live nearby, you can take them there to play by the water. But honestly, it's not that great of a park and I wouldn't bother going there if you...
