This is an extremely great place to visit. When the weather is hot, it's a great place to set a chair near the water, feet dipped in it, and sunglasses on. Enjoyable! The sound to the waves are extremely satisfying, no radio needed! However, the downside to this experience are the idol worshippers who make this experience for nature lovers a bit uncomfortable because they "sacrifice food" right near the shore. Whatever they leave, goes into the water, where children enjoy a swim with their families. The broken bottles are the most important thing to be very cautious about if you love walking barefoot. There are certain places you can dig up pieces of dangerous, and broken glass bottles. If you choose to walk barefoot, do this at your own risk. I'd be very, very careful though. I wish the voodoo people would stop polluting the earth created to be enjoyed, nonetheless, i am here every morning. Would be great if the community got together and made a petition to have some of these people arrested for soliciting. Even if some of the people in the community got together to clean it up, i would volunteer to make this a blessed...

needs major attention. problem is its not a city park so it doesnt get the attention. the ball fields are a nightmare. players are at serious risk of injury. the playground is not maintained for the children. the bathrooms are never open n when they are theyre not clean. 1 ball field has been turned into a dog park by visitors. the benches are old and in need of repair. the beach area needs tending to. there should be permitted food stand or snack bar inside the park. it should be monitored by park police not the nypd casually cruising around the walk path at their leisure puttin pedestrians at risk and leavin them nowhere to walk....

Frank M. Charles Memorial Park is a really good spot to watch the planes take off and land, relax, and enjoy some nature. It is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, and it offers a scenic view of Jamaica Bay and JFK Airport. The park is not very big, but it has a playground for kids, tennis courts, a baseball field, and a pretty big green field to play whatever sport you like. You can also walk along the waterfront and see some birds and wildlife. The park is clean and well-maintained. I recommend this park for anyone who wants to escape the city noise and have some...

Place for recreation. Naturally beauty. Different day Different look. The park is home to five tennis courts, a basketball court, two sports fields, and a children’s playground. There is a half-mile paved path open to pedestrians and skaters that circles the park. Benches are available for visitors to sit and look out over Jamaica Bay. There is a beach, but no swimming is allowed. Fishing is allowed anywhere along the beach area, and this is one of the few places to fish in the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area where you do not need a parking permit.

It's a nice park. You have tennis courts, handball and a play ground. There is a field there to play baseball or what ever. Picnic tables. There is a small beach to walk. There are bathrooms during park hours. Overall its a nice park to spend the day. My only issue is the beach is not as clean as it used to be but not because of the parks people but the people that come to do rituals they pollute the area and dont clean up behind them. It's sad that humans destroy things. Me and my daughters always pick up when we go there. It's always good to help when you can.

It's actually a beautifully quaint little area if you like wildlife and planes. I enjoy both of those things immensely and plan to go back, look at the hermit and horseshoe crabs, check out the planes overhead and trains passing by, and catch some sun. The one downside is that it is a bit dirty by the beach, but other than that it's a nice area for a spontaneous little day.
