Carvel — Restaurant in New York

I went inside this place because my son wanted some ice cream. The atmosphere was thick and reminiscent of the Howard Beach where people of color weren’t allowed to set foot in Howard Beach without being chased out. They were four young employees all but avoided talking us. The one that did was short and borderline rude. All that came out his mouth was is there anything else? My son who’s six is social and friendly and he barely engaged him. All my son is wanted to do is say hello and order ice cream. Nothing more nothing less. They were rumors this place aligns with the current political right wing climate but I thought I’ll keep an open mind. $37 3 ice cream cones and 1 cup seems a bit overpriced. Hard pill to swallow after this awkward. I just payed and we ate the ice cream in the car. Lesson learned. I won’t be supporting this business again. The owner needs to shutdown and have a grand opening with new management.walking in the store it was a VERY BAD SMELL then the floor was dirty and trash behind the counter. Worst experience ever I felt so rushed to order two young kids just starred at me and my husband asking if we were ready I had never been there before so I asked if we could have a moment to look then we put to cakes on the counter to decide they grabbed them to try n bag them but I told them we wasn’t ready yet. And the lady who looked like the manager stormed off saying well I was just seeing if you needed help. Also I asked the worker how long they keep the ice cream in the glass he said a month. OMG a month thats a long to top remake ice cream.. My thing is if someone say they never been in the store that would be the time to tell them what all you offe and build that client worker relationships to sell the ice cream I felt very uncomfortable and I will be emailing the...

I typically stop here on my way home from work as it’s convenient, never has issues. I passed by today and there was a gentleman infringe me ordering a sizable amount of items, so I stood aside to let the mam get his order. I was patiently waiting as it was just the two of us in the store, about 5 minutes later a group of 3 guys come in and don’t you know it, he is offered service before me. I walk up to the lady and ask if there is a reason she didn’t offer me services while I waiting my turn, her answer “ I didn’t even see you there”!!!!! In a space so open and so small you really didn’t see me ? Glad caravel is a chain and there is one not to far!

Having read a few more reviews after posting mine I realized this place seems to act the same way...
