I lived there back in 1988-1989. The Saratoga was the best shelter to live in in the whole NYC! The building was white back then. I went to my first and only sleep away camp, camp dear trail and camp hadenmarks. The Saratoga had a recreation room in the basement and they cooked real food in the cafeteria! The security guards were called safety, LML! As a kid safety/guards would chase us around the building and If u would get caught, that's a write up and to many write ups = being kicked out and back to the EAU in China town to get placed somewhere else!
