Junior the lead barber is a long time friend and barber of mine and I definitely would recommend getting a cut at his shop. Not only is he professional, but he is attentive to his craft and makes sure that you leave out from his shop feeling satisfied and happy. His place is clean, sanitized and safe. Junior repeatedly makes sure that you are comfortable in his chair, engages in conversation and just sets the tone of what true customer service is. His energy alone as you arrive is warm, welcoming and super amicable. You're never not leaving this place without a smile. It's been 1 year since I've been natural (baddie with a baldie lol) and he makes sure that your cut fits to your head shape and gives recommendations should you have your own idea of the cut that you want. I've been getting my haircuts at Iconic Kutz for the last 3 years and have had a bad cut yet. The owner (Junior) is extremely friendly and very attentive to the way you want your hair styled. They cater to both men and women. My most recent experience (today) included a wash (That left my hair and scalp relaxed and invigorated), cut, dry and grooming to my facial hair. He explained to me how he continues stay current by upgrading his skills while taking pictures of his work for his portfolio which he uses to assist his customers.He gave me his personal attention and answered all my questions. Went there to get my hair dyed blonde. Spot is pretty packed, the girl is overwhelmed and isn’t very professional. She takes on way too many clients at same time and definitely cannot handle all of them well. The girl charged me as much as they charge in high end salons in manhattan for a dye job (I paid almost $300); matter you in those high end salons they offer you water, coffee, tea , champagne and candy; and cater to your every need and are very attentive- not in this place. So kinda felt ripped off, the atmosphere here and service wasn’t up to par with the price.
