Inkstained Tattoo Studio — Attraction in New York

I was unfortunately assigned to Tramaine when I came in for a consultation for a tattoo cover up. In retrospect, I wish I had done my research on her before working with her. She has been working full time with Ink Stained Tattoo for only a few years, and the reviews mentioning her by name make up 100% of their 1 star reviews. It really speaks volumes about Tramaine’s character, work ethic, and professionalism that no one I saw has anything good to say about her. It is also a shame that I have to give this whole Studio a 1 star review when my problems were specifically with Tramaine. However, I reached out to the Studio and manager Mike multiple times to try to resolve my problems, and was never given the time of day. Over the duration of months working with Tramaine, she showed poor communication skills, I never saw an expectable design from her, she had no respect for me or my time, and she refused to continue working with me after I told her ‘I was disappointed and baffled by her unprofessionalism.’ (I guess the truth hurts). I was disappointed with her because she canceled an appointment that had been scheduled for a month just 1 hour before I arrived at the studio. Keeping in mind that I live 2-3 hours away from the studio, I had every right to be upset, and this would be inappropriate behavior of a ‘professional’ in any setting. After the cancellation, I had waisted and entire day, a total of 5 hours driving, and put 100s of miles on my vehicle. What really put me over the edge, is that Tramaine refused to give back my $100 deposit, when I feel she was the one who cancelled the appointment and also chose to stop working with me. My experiences with this tattoo shop and specifically ruth, had been nothing but fantastic i had gotten my first tattoo of an American traditional wolf there and the staff had been extremely friendly and helpful guiding me through every step of the way making the entire experience seamless. Everyone in the shop always has a positive attitude and the atmosphere feels welcoming and friendly. The staff do an excellent job of keeping the shop clean and hygienic. Now to talk about ruth, ruth has been phenomenal in every session i have had with her and she is a warm welcoming person who helps you feel at home and comfortable when you are getting work done. Whether it’s talking about your favorite pop tart flavor or the horrible conditions of the road, ruth is always fully engaged in her work and her client’s conversations creating a memorable experience. Ruth is a master at her craft and she is able to consistently produce incredible American traditional pieces, i would not trust anyone else with my body. If you’re ever in the area or simply looking to get some new tattoos i cannot recommend this incredible tattoo store highly enough! Justin Cruz hooked me up with another fire tattoo. I am very pleased with his professionalism! When getting started i explained how i wanted it to look and how I envisioned it to look going forward with future tattoos to go along with my Uncharted theme ill be doing. He made some suggestions and I absolutely trusted his artistic direction. He even did some additional touchups on the previous one he did just to make it pop, and let me tell you im hyped being his client.
