Maybe I'm being overly critical but I found the course to be unpleasant. The people working were lovely but I signed up to play early on a Friday afternoon. I think 9 holes would have taken 3.75 hours had I not left early. The golfers I saw were very inexperienced, very slow, no concept of pace of play and there wasn't anyone on the course doing anything about it to move people along. I waited 15 minutes at the third hole for two people to finish who were less than 60 yards from the pin. One was giving the other a "lesson" meanwhile there were 4 groups waiting at the tee box. I'm no great golfer but even as I was learning, the rules of golf etiquette were instilled in me. This was not happening at all. With the course being so close, I'm incredibly disappointed as I thought this would be a place I could frequent as a quick fix for the days I don't have time to play 18 and that was not the case. Also, the signage for the walking path is embarrassing. The path from the train is so nice and so easy IF YOU KNOW where you are going. If it's your first time Google Maps will send you the long way around which is like 30 min. Using the driving directions was actually better. Better signage and course mgmt would a long way in my opinion. Unless that improves, I don't see myself going back...

One of my favorite courses. Been playing here regularly for about 8 years, sometimes every week. David and his crew, Carlos and others are all friendly. Today was a beautiful and warm fall day, I prepaid and drove up to the lot and as usual checked in with the guy in the lot, and he said I can go up to the tee since no one is there at the time. At the first tee as I was about to take off my head cover, this new guy or at least I’ve never seen him before, drives up to me and asks for my name, in a very demanding way, as if I didn’t pay or something. After asking for my name, he has no list with him to check, so why ask for my name? He told me I need to go catch up to the twosome ahead or I need to wait for the next group. The twosome was already hitting their approach shot to the green at this point. I told him I was told I can tee off. He said then why don’t you hit? I said I just literally got to the tee box. What a way to ruin someone’s game and day. I hope I never see him again or he changes to...

I went golfing for the first time, and let’s just say… my swing needs some serious work. But what I lacked in skill, I made up for in laughs and thankfully, my wife was right there with me for the ride (literally). We spent the day at Mosholu Golf Course, a great spot for beginners, and even though I wasn’t exactly Tiger Woods out there, I had a blast.

My wife didn’t play, but she drove me around in the golf cart like a pro. Honestly, that was half the fun we joked around the whole time, and she laughed every time I sent the ball flying in the wrong direction… or barely moved it at all. Some of my swings were so bad, even the trees flinched.

Still, the whole experience was a good time. The weather was perfect, the course was peaceful, and we enjoyed just being out there together. I may not be a golf star yet, but I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat especially with...
